TELLY favourite Noel Edmonds has called for a ban on immigrants coming

to Britain. In an interview he said: “I’m very straightforward on

immigration. The bus is full.”

The star gave his views to the News of the World on the eve of his new

political telly programme, Noel’s HQ, which tries to find solutions

for what’s wrong with Britain. TV Noel, 59—famous for Noel's House

Party, which featured Mr Blobby, and Deal Or No Deal—said: “Why should

we have no more people in? We haven’t got enough energy, we haven’t

got enough electricity, we haven’t got enough of a health service.

“We can all go down the pub and go, ‘Oh it’s terrible, all these

immigrants.’ But what are we going to do in Britain to change this

toxic culture if we don’t say, ‘Enough is enough.’ If I was Prime

Minister for a day the first thing I would do would be to close the

border. Then we could work out how many people we’ve got here.

“Then you get people out who have committed crimes and you look at

others who shouldn’t be here. Nobody knows how many people we’ve got

here.” The presenter insisted his views are not racist. He explained:

“Please be clear. I do not have an agenda that involves where people

come from, the colour of their skin or what their religion is.

"This is an island and we have a situation now where we are going to

run out of energy. But it is a fact that there is a finite number of

people who can fit into a lift. This is an island and we have a

situation now where we are going to run out of energy."

He said he doesn’t trust either Gordon Brown or David Cameron to make

effective changes and said he would not vote at the next election.

Noel said: “Who’s going to do something about it. Brown? Cameron? No.

They’ve had their go, now it’s our turn.

“Cameron’s had every opportunity to represent to the public what he

stands for and the big change he’s going to make. Ridiculous green

taxes are just another way of prising money off people. “The best

thing that could happen to this country is that if at the next

election no one voted. We have to put the power back with the people.

I find it extraordinary that we live in millions of little prisons

called our homes, with burglar alarms, when a relatively small number

of people walk around free. If someone’s caught with a knife they need

to get off the street straight away. We need to build bigger prisons.”

On the police, Noel said: “The police are not respected because of the

way they behave. I’d reorganise the force so we don’t have people with

stab vests walking into our homes to tell us they’re not interested

that our car’s been stolen.”

Noel hopes his 90-minute live TV special tonight will help change the

way society works.

Wow. Noel Edmonds actually said something which i agree with.
Noel Edmonds would certainly get my vote for PM

Can't fault a word her says there

Oh there was me thinking you were a Tory. Looks like you'll be joining Edmonds in voting for the BNP.

Career over -_- What an utterly ridiculous thing to say  Though before I go into a full blown rant I'll wait for more on the story as it's from the News Of The World

Spot on Noel. Well said. We're an island and it's time our borders were closed and no-one, and I mean no-one, else allowed in. That's not racist either, as Noel said. It's common sense.

NOEL FOR PRIME MINISTER. :P

i agree... the bus IS full... we CANNOT go on accepting anyone from anywhere.... this is the consequence of being in europe, freedom to move,.. trouble is no one actually thought this through properly .... legitimately EVERYONE in the eu can legitimately come here! BONKERS!

this island is far too small to accomodate everyone and dispite brits moving abroad the population of this tiny, overcrowded, gridlocked, high priced housing, taxed to the hilt to pay for it, island simply cannot hold everyone.

somethings gotta give.

What next? Terry Nutkins on how he'd ease the credit crunch?

Stick to appalling shirts and terrible television formats Noel. Either that or bring back Telly Addicts.

But most EU members aren't going to come here so that's a ridiculous argument.

As for tax, taxes here are around the EU average. Sadly, because some of the richest people and most profitable companies in the country pay little or no tax, the rest of us have to pay it instead. We need fairer taxes not lower taxes.

i agree with him.

but most eu members CAN come here if they chose, and besides theres ten times the ammount here then was expected.

taxes are higher as a direct effect of imigration both from eu and non eu countries, take the school where i work, they now have to employ 11 translators to cope with the differing languages (they employed 4 5 years ago). the pressure on housing and hospitals is well documented... the extra money has to come from somewhere to pay for it!

but most eu members CAN come here if they chose, and besides theres ten times the ammount here then was expected.

And we could all leave tomorrow and go and live in Luxemburg. If this country is really as dreadful as you seem to think, why would anyone want to come here? And why haven't we all left?

that must be the most stupid thing youve ever posted here (uncharacteristically) <_<

where did i say the countries 'dreadful'?.. au contraire, its because we are so bloody soft at dishing out benefits ( a polish newspaper recently got chided for printing a 'how to' guide to fiddling benefits, citing 'after living under russia for so long, its easy, we run rings around the british' ) ... and we enjoy a better standard of living through years of struggle and strife (both in wars and in politics). our judicial system whilst not perfect is a damn sight better then most leading to our civilisation being more civilised and advanced. ironically its this very system of 'fair play' that has lead to us being so bloody soft.

weve been here before... the RATE of immigration is what is causing the problems, our population is rising faster then at any time in history. our country was crowded enough as it was... but increasing the population by 6 million in 8 years... (c10%) is BOUND to have a detrimental effect on our way of life. ok... even if EVERYONE who comes here works and pays taxes, itll still take many years to 'pay back' in tax the benefits which is of little use now!

Your description earlier was "this tiny, overcrowded, gridlocked, high priced housing, taxed to the hilt to pay for it, island ".

A lot of the people who came from the new EU membres have already gone back home. Many of the others are likely to do so as well. They have often been doing the jobs which British people don't want to do.

Also, we will need more people of working age to pay pensions to the increasing number of retired people. The ratio of workin-age people to pensioners is rapidly heading towards 2:1.

eh? how do you figure that? (pensions), retired people have been paying in for decades, its THEIR money. it aint an argument about working here, although you sound like the absent scott in presuming that ALL imigrants are hard working , multi-talented, honest, superbeings when in fact they arnt!

i dont get scotts argument tbh, on one hand hes all for supporting the hard pressed, subjegated, oppressed work force .... then hes all for cut price cheapo polish labourers

I'm talking about the STATE pension. Yes, in theory, you pay NI and get a pension in return. But in practice, today's pensions are paid from current taxation. It all stems from when the system was set up 100 years ago and the first pensions were paid on 1 January 1909. Ever since then, it's been a Pay As You Go system.

I don't presume that ALL immigrants are hard-working etc. However, I do think that, in general, they are at least as hard-working etc. as those who were born here.

you dont get full state pension if your stamp hasnt been fully paid.

and like those who were born here theres half of them who are scroungers..

just what IS you point here? do you think the borders should remain open for all?...

you dont get full state pension if your stamp hasnt been fully paid.

Yes, as I said, in theory you pay NI and get a pension in return. But the money to pay it comes from current taxation. And if you end up in a care home, most of the staff will probably be non-British because British people don't want to do that sort of work for the pitiful rates of pay on offer.

again thats bollox... im self employed and pay my own stamp, if i dont keep it up to date i will not be entitled to FULL state pension.

the pitiful rates of pay are the minimum wage, so why do foreigners want to work for less?... get rid of them so the workers get at least minimum wage.

No, it's not nonsense. It's the way it works. To return to my original post. The state pension was introduced in 1908 with the first pension payments made on 1 January 1909. That meant the payments had to be made out of current taxation rather than from a fund which had been built up over many years.

The fact that your pension - and mine - will be based on the NI payments we've made doesn't alter the fact that it will actually be paid by the taxpayers at that time. Our NI payments are paying for today's pensioners.

Ideally, when the state pension was introduced, it would have been on the basis that people paid into a fund which would then have been used to pay them a pension. However, by the time it was introduced, the need to pay existing pensioners was too great to be able to do that.
