Finally Thermostatic getting the appreciation they deserve then

- Really they were some pretty obvious clues mate

I am almost 100% certain that it's Freeze  I was always stumped as to how it ended up 19th in the first place, having said that I didn't give it any points in that contest :heehee:

Thermostatic will always be FSR Rontvia's least memorable entry, Mira may have flopped harder but there are few people that will forget her :kink:

my guesses are in bold

- Currently the song with the most nominations in a particular contest originally finished 19th! Kopecka - Jordin Sparks - Freeze - BJSC III

- The two overall leading songs (across all contests, in terms of nomination ranking points) are on 58 and 57 points, and the joint third placed songs overall are on 34 points Currently, the leading song is from BJSC V. USR/I - MIA - Paper Planes - BJSCV

- Excluding Mdice, who autoqualify thrice, the most entries a country currently stands to have into the contest is five. Kopecka

- Only one entry has received no nominations so far from both BJSC IV and V. Eledan - Polina Gagarina - Kolybel'naya - BJSCIV/Leonville - Tokio Hotel - Spring Nicht - BJSCV- Two countries have failed to receive a single nomination for their two entries (each) into the contest! Camtoro and Leonville?

- Bhangra are flopping miserably so far their best entry is already qualified - I can't see many people picking Toca's Miracle!

I shall never forget Mira

what a choon!!

is pixie getting a release in the near future???

So our guesses are exactly the same then. I guess the clues were just too good. :heehee: (though the song in 10th with no nominations is hard to predict)

 I swear I hadn't seen your reply before I posted that :o

that's scary :heehee:

Camtoro have only appeared once in a final :P But after further looking, I would like to correct that clue. There have been three countries that have had two entries into the final...and none of them have yet received a nomination! :o

Oops...well Leonville is probably one of them. The others could be Phinechendza and Fervorosia (it could be the song in 10th with no nominations) it's quite a hard one to guess once you realise Camtoro has only been in one final and there are actually three of them. :heehee:

What does that one mean? Could somebody rephrase that? Maybe I'm just being incredibly thick...

:arrr:

Basically, in BJSC IV there's only one song that has received no nominations, and the same applies to BJSC V ;)

And I'd like to correct another clue :o Currently one country stands to qualify six times, instead of five, after a quick conversion to nominations (as I've only been continually updating it on points thus far) :drama:

Like you said, it's probably either Jeanette or Alizee, and out of those two I can't see anybody nominating Jeanette. I know Alizee has a few fans.

still Kopecka, the only other countries I would imagine it could be are Rontvia and USR...

I've had 6 top ten finishes, 1 is already in the final, I can't imagine all of the other 5 would make it...Kopecka have no prequalified finalists but nearly always finish in the top ten + Freeze is a certainty for the final, and I wouldn't be surprised if Vanessa Williams made it either, due to the high level of Ugly Betty fans on here :P it wouldn't have surprised me actually if all 10 entries from Kopecka qualified :o

if I was pushed, I'd say the three least likely to qualify from Kopecka are Little Miss Obsessive, Meddle and I Said Never Again (But Here We Are). I really can't tell if Money Note will qualify, but if it doesn't then the other six left are probably the six that are due to qualify

and I wouldn't be surprised if Vanessa Williams made it either, due to the high level of Ugly Betty fans on here :P

 I never knew Vanessa Williams was Wilhelmina in Ugly Betty. This is like some huge revelation to me. I was always saying I recognised her from somewhere but I didn't think Wilhelmina = Colors of the Wind lady. I really like 'Colors of the Wind' and 'Save the Best for Last' now, she has a nice voice. I just can't imagine the Vanessa Williams of today as being a former singer with that voice.

Anyway, yeah, I still think Kopecka have the six entries in contention at the moment just because of the sheer amount that are eligible and most have done well. Even the one that didn't do so well is qualifying by the sounds of things.

Anyway, the reason I came here was to say that I've finally done the BJSC VI recap video:

Sorry if it looks a bit crappy, but at least 3/10 of the recaps are in this style now so my BJSC VII video doesn't look as tacky. :heehee:

did Simon enter the Rob Searle remix of Set You Free (as shown in the recap vid) :kink: he really should have done, that would have been an instant 12 points :P

great job Aaron, nice to finally see a full recap vid for that contest! I agree with you about Vanessa, her speaking voice is so harsh compared to her singing voice but maybe that's just because she's playing an evil character in Ugly Betty (and my favourite character in the show )

I knew I would have messed up with one of the songs. -_- I went back to the thread and the only videos that were taken down were Toca's Miracle and Set You Free - the two songs with the most versions and remixes. I was bound to mess up with at least one of them, to make it worse 'Set You Free' was one of the nine songs that didn't make either recap video in that contest.

As I didn't rip the songs until BJSC VII, I just had to go with what I thought was right and I recognised the video (probably the official one) used on the version I ripped so I thought that would be it. So, yes, Simon did use the Rob Searle remix now because I didn't save it in a way which makes editing possible and this recap video is the only evidence we have - anyone remembering a different version being sent is clearly crazy. :kink:

I kind of enjoy making the recap videos, it's just ripping each song individually that takes time - though I had 12/29 of the songs on my computer already as I went back and ripped my favourites before. It still doesn't take as long as the other way of doing it though.

It probably is Vanessa's acting voice that throws me. But I also expected to be an age difference between them, I thought singer Vanessa Williams was late 30s (though I knew she was the first African American Miss America in 1984 so I should have realised that wouldn't work out) and Wilhelmina was early 50s - but she's 45 according to Wikipedia so I was wrong on both accounts.

What's to say Thermostatic aren't through? That clue was just saying that one of the songs that was in the lead the most came 19th in the overall contest they were in. Thermostatic might have just scraped through. (If anybody get's what i mean )
I don't think they would have, very few people liked it, it only got points from ten countries, and only two countries gave it anywhere near a decent amount of points IIRC...I still love the track, the track I least like that I have entered is probably Glorious, but I still would give that 9/10
I see you're having a little Vanessa-fest now :heehee:

I noticed that too

Vanessa looks about 45 I would say, which like you say, is her age...so when she released Save The Best For Last she was 29...

I see you're having a little Vanessa-fest now :heehee:

I figured I should download her greatest hits as I liked 'Colours of the Wind' and 'Save the Best for Last'. There wasn't anything as great on it, but nice songs nonetheless. ^_^

It said the song with the most nominations in it's contest finished 19th. So it's not 'scraping through', it's in the lead for it's particular contest. I don't think it's impossible for Thermostatic to qualify, but I wouldn't count on it, and I especially don't expect it to have the most nominations for BJSC VIII. Now if you look at BJSC III, I think it's very likely that 'Freeze' will have the most nominations from that contest.

I guess I'm not very good at telling people's ages, she looks younger than 29 in the video to me. :heehee: I didn't know the song was that old either, as I thought I'd heard it before and 1992 is too old for me to remember.

It was used in a Bisto advert, which is where I vaguely remembered it from :o
