Has anybody heard 'Within Temptation - Ice Queen'? Im considering it for the next contest

 

I think they're good, and Ice Queen or Angels could do alright.

 

However Within Temptation were in my national selection a few months back and they got quite a mediocre response...so I don't know whether they'd be a good bet in general.

It's nice to see people being serious about their promo tours this time around, as in not just putting up a list of countries, but actually honouring the commitments and going to each thread their act performs in.

 

However I can't help noticing some people not being very strategic about their tours...because that's what it is really...it's a very strategic marketing campaign and alot of people aren't making the most of it.

Pixie's tour was relatively strategic, visiting a) the countries who have expressed an interest in Pixie's song and B) the countries who have supported FSR Rontvia in the past and c) the countries whose songs I usually or always like

 

 

 

oh, and I think nearly everyone, if not everyone, touring is coming to FSR Rontvia, which is excellent news :cheer:

I agree it's really good to see more countries taking the touring seriosuly. Does it actually make a difference though? I'll probably still do it next month if Cookie are a sucsess or not but does it actually persuade people to give you more points?

I went round countries last week whose entries I'd usually support or would support mine, and I've got a rough idea of the countries I'll be visiting this week, all of which are in the same semi-final as me, so could potentially vote for Tori Amos. However I haven't announced exact dates as there wouldn't be any point visiting a country on Wednesday that had already voted on Monday.

When doing my tour, I tried to target the people who I thought would like Isabel, but just maybe needed a bit of oompf. I didn't pick any places of people who I already knew loved it or absolutely hated it, cuz that would be pointless.

I've had a really great time on the tour so far and can't wait to get stuck into the final leg of the tour. Kopecka tonight should be great and i can't wait to get to the Sugatorium. the capacity is 400,000 and that would be just amazing to perform to, i am shocked that it sold out 5 Minutes after it went on sale. I've met some really great people, had some mind blowing reactions, covered some of the best songs i have ever heard discovered some fantastic holiday destinations and had the best month of my life so far.

 

I'm really looking forward to my Glasgow gig on wednesay, shame i can't have a wee nip of whiskey on stage though. I'm just one year away now following my 17th yesterday.

Metro Station Promo at Stand Still

 

Promotion for Metro Station in the 11th BuzzJack Song Contest has been virtually non-existant. Juranabaijan, who have been highly reputed as fantastic promoters of their BuzzJack Song Contest acts in the past, have failed to do any promo this time round, apart from issuing a video and a poster - of limited quantities. A tour was to be scheduled, but failed to materialise. It has now been confirmed, by Mayor Juranamo, that Metro Station will embark on a mini-tour of just SIX countries as hopes for qualifying are slim. This time round, each country will get a video of a selected song from the set. The countries to be toured are as follows:

 

11th October 2008: Juranabaijan

12th October 2008: Herzebania

13th October 2008: Lorikeet

14th October 2008: FSR Rontvia

15th October 2008: FNTNickodonia

16th October 2008: Mdice

 

Once Metro Station reach Mdice, they will stay there until the finals.
