Cilmi Makes It 10/11 for Ashton

Gabriella Cilmi made it through to the final of BJSCXI in Mdice earlier this evening for her second final appearance and Ashton's 10th! The ever present Kopecka are the only country with a higher success rate.

Through a statement released by the ASC Gabriella said "I am ecstatic to be through to the final again. I'm really looking forward to this one and i'm so happy to have restored some pride to Ashton after Suga-gate. I wish to thank everyone who voted for me and helped me to make the final."

With the final of BJSCXI kicking off imminently The Best Of BJSCI-X draws closer. Morpeth Cove has hired an extra 5,000 police officers for the event which will see people from over 40 countries gather in the Ashtonise capital. The government of Ashton would like to remind visitors to apply for visa's in plenty of time and they also wished to stress that Environmentalists will be shot on sight.

The ASC today also confirmed the representative and song for BJSCXII. The video for which can be seen in the Ashton National Thread (Bottom of first post). Opinions and Thoughts are welcomed.

Metro Station Fail To Qualify For BJSCXI

Metro Station fit into CSS' shoes. The song Shake It proved to have the exact same shoe size as Jager Yoga as it once again failed to qualify by a millimeter. Last time, Jager Yaga finished 14th (with the same number of points as Battle by Colbie Caillat in 13th). This year Metro Station raked up 55 points in a closely fought Semi Final 1. Semi Final 2 was however, far less competitive. Only 3 songs in Semi Final would not have qualified in Semi 2. Shake It took in the highest number of points of all the Semi Finalists to be knocked out, dragging in 55 - which we think is a record for a Semi Finalist (citation needed).

Now, all recourses are going into the selection of the BuzzJack Song Contest 12 participant in 2 BJ Years time. Next BJ year see the Best Of The BuzzJack Song Contest take place, of which Maroon 5 & Rihanna, and The Script will be hoping to win a place in.

Alesha ends USR's fail rate

RnB sensation Alesha Dixon was "relieved" to hear via a telephone message that she had made the final's of Buzzjack Song Contest #11. Alesha, who was in the United Kingdom performing on Strictly Come Dancing so couldn't attend the ceremony, told BBC News that "I'm so happy, relieved and generally surprised to have made the final of Buzzjack Song Contest". Alesha will join the likes of Britney Spears and Gabriellia Climi in the final of the contest and hopes to get top 10. Her single "The Boy Does Nothing" climbed from 82 to #3 in the official USR chart this evening, whilst Buzzjack song "Lipstick" returned to the chart after a year absence to get to #18 based on downloads alone.

The happy news comes after United States of Russiatron has suffered from failing to qualify for 2 contests running. USR, which has taken part in every single Buzzjack Song Contest- along with FSR Rontiva, Kopecka & Ashton, failed to qualify for Buzzjack Song Contest #9 with Tarkan's "Start The Fire" and also in the last contest with Keri Hilson & Nas's song "Hero".

Alesha, who is 30 and hails from Toytown in USR, has said she is looking forward to performing at the ceremony. She says that her favourite artists in the Contest are Those Dancing Days "They are amazing, and there song Run Run is a definate catchy one". She also states that she loves the songs entered by Eledan & Lorikeet.

Ashton Goes Wild For Tori and Gabriella

Gabriella Cilmi's sell-out concert in the Sugatorium in Ashton tonight with special guest Tori Amos was a huge success. The crowd went wild as both singers sang a selection of their hits, as well as a few duets.

One very well-recieved surprise was the encore from the two performers. Fans were left confused when the concert ended without either of the two singers having performed their entries from BJSC11, however they were in for a treat when they returned to the stage to sing each other's songs!

Tori Amos and her piano treated the audience to a jazzy rendition of "Don't Want To Go To Bed Now" while Gabriella put in a superb vocal performance of "Silent All These Years."

"It was a risky decision," Tori Amos commented after the show, "but the crowd seemed to go for it which is cool."

The pair closed the show with a rendition of "Hole In The Head," and by encouraging the audience to tune in to the final of the contest this Sunday.

Gabriella Cilmi will perform a few more concerts in her home country this week while Tori Amos undertakes more concerts around the Buzzjack world, starting tomorrow with newcomers Kellyana Kingdom.

Gabriella and Tori light-up Ashton

Last nights sold out performance by Gabriella Cilmi and Tori Amos has left Ashton's capital city in a party mood. The concert got under way on time an achievement by the crew who had over 420,000 people to seat in just one hour. First on stage was Red Blooded Women, Ashton's representatives for BJSCXII (14th in BJSCVII). They performed four songs (Colour Me Dirty, Synthesiser, You Made Your Bed and 4 2nite) and warmed the crowd up for the main event.

Gabriella entered from stage right, Tori took the left and they appeared on stage behind a cloud of smoke singing Cry Me A River, the Justin Timberlake song ever present in Gabriella's sets. After performing a series of their hits and album tracks along with duets of Real Girl, About You Now and I Don't Know. In addition to Cry Me A River Gabriella covered Whole Lotta Love, the Led Zeppelin track which inspired her many years ago.

A shock twist came at the end of the night when the singers re-appeared for their encore after leaving the stage after Sweet About Me. Tori, having disappeared first, re-appeared the perform a jazzy rendition of Gabriella's BJSCXI entry Don't Wanna Go To Bed Now, and Gabriella came on at the end to sing along with the last chorus and proceeded to launch into a soulful performance of Silent All These Years. The girls then collaborated on Hole In The Head, one of Ashton's biggest selling singles and former entry.

Gabriella told us after the show that "It was definitely a risk not singing our own entries, but it's one we decided to take just 5minutes before the concert began! The crowd were amazing, as usual. I always love performing in Ashton the crowd are really enthusiastic, music is their passion. It's one of the reasons i signed up for a third contest with Ashton in the future. Music is the heart and soul of this huge country and it's incredible, it really shows at all the gigs i have performed here. Backstage at BJSC you always know who has performed in Ashton! Mainly because they always come and ask me if i get the same amazing reaction they got! LOL!! Hole In The Head really got the crowd on their feet and jumping like madmen! Even after a 150minute gig! I will be performing that again tonight i think!"

Gabriella confirmed the rumour about her contract when we spoke to her (in bold above), telling us she had signed on for a third contest with Ashton but she didn't know when it would be

Gabriella is set to perform in New England Harbour tonight 1,244miles North of Morpeth Cove. Tori Amos is continuing her tour of Buzzjack and stops in Kellyana Kingdom.
