Posted September 29, 200816 yr As I got a full inbox of "Dave, where`s the weekly preview, that you and Trevs do lately?" I found a quick minute to have a word with John and Peter at HMV, and we have come up with this info..after trekking around the host of shops, and downloads available. Here is the Singles info: 01 NE SO WHAT - PINK 02 01 SEX ON FIRE - KINGS OF LEON 03 NE LOVE YOU ANYWAY - BOYZONE 04 08 GIRLS - SUGABABES 05 02 I KISSED A GIRL - KATY PERRY 06 NE SHOCK OF THE LIGHTNING - OASIS 07 03 DISTURBIA - RIHANNA 08 05 IN THIS CITY - IGLU AND HARTLEY 09 04 WHEN I GROW UP - PUSSYCAT DOLLS 10 06 COOKIE JAR - GYM CLASS HEROES 11 07 YOU MAKE IT REAL - JAMES MORRISON 12 09 MISS INDEPENDANT - NE YO 13 11 JENNIFER HUDSON - SPOTLIGHT 14 12 MADCON - BEGGIN` 15 13 CHANGES - WILL YOUNG 16 14 FLOBOTS - HANDLEBARS 17 15 SCRIPT - MAN WHO CAN`T BE MOVED 18 18 ALL SUMMER LONG - KID ROCK 19 16 LOVE LOCKDOWN - KANYE WEST 20 21 ANGEL IN THE NIGHT - BASSHUNTER 21 19 PAPER PLANES - MIA 22 26 ANOTHER WAY TO DIE - ALICIA KEYES/JACK WHITE 23 20 PJANOO - ERIC PRYDZ 24 10 THERE YOU`LL BE - FAITH HILL 25 29 USE SOMEBODY - KINGS OF LEON 26 23 SEE YOU AGAIN - MILEY CYRUS 27 25 NO AIR - JORDIN SPARKS 28 24 DANCE WIV ME - DIZZEE RASCAL/CALVIN HARRIS 29 22 MOUNTAINS - BIFFY CLYRO 30 27 VIVA LA VIDA - COLDPLAY 31 17 LIES - MCFLY 32 28 CLOSER - NE YO 33 RE SPIRALLING - KEANE 34 30 BURNIN`UP - JONAS BROTHERS 35 32 LOVE IS NOISE - VERVE 36 31 PADDY`S REVENGE - STEVE MAC 37 RE SWEET ABOUT ME - GABRIELLA CILMI 38 34 5 YEARS TIME - NOAH AND THE WHALE 39 37 SHE`S LIKE A STAR - TAIO CRUZ 40 NE WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD - AXWELL/BOB SINCLAR Who said the chart might be exciting, next week?! That one look`s rather static, apart from the top 10. Outside the 40 it`s all re-entries Take That, Snow Patrol, Michael Buble, all go back into the top 50. Streets go back into the top 60, MGMT - Kids goes into the 50, as does Hot N`Cold - Katy Perry. I feel for Niki Evans - Love Me No More, and Chase And Status - Pieces..both look like flopping, a shame but the physical sales tell a different story. Boyzone take top physical today, just in front of Oasis, and Pink..another different story. Who wants the album preview? Here it is: 01 NE LET IT GO - WILL YOUNG 02 01 ONLY BY THE NIGHT - KINGS OF LEON 03 NE SONGS FOR YOU TRUTHS FOR ME - JAMES MORRISON 04 02 GOOD GIRL GONE BAD - RIHANNA 05 03 ROCKFERRY - DUFFY 06 NE A LITTLE BIT LONGER - JONAS 07 04 DOLL DOMINATION - PUSSYCAT DOLLS 08 NE ONE VOICE - ANDREW JOHNSTON 09 05 YEAR OF THE GENTLEMAN - NE YO 10 07 MAMMA MIA - OST 11 13 CAMP ROCK - OST 12 06 BEST BETTE - BETTE MIDLER 13 10 SELDOM SEEN KID - ELBOW 14 NE 70s POWER BALLADS - VARIOUS 15 12 FLOORFILLERS CLUBMIX - VARIOUS 16 15 BECAUSE OF THE TIMES - KINGS OF LEON 17 09 RADIO ACTIVE - MCFLY 18 NE CLASSIC BIG TUNES - VARIOUS 19 NE 101 50s HITS - VARIOUS 20 14 ONE OF THE BOYS - KATY PERRY 21 NE AND SO IT GOES - BLAKE 22 17 NOW 70 - VARIOUS 23 07 DEATH MAGNETIC - METALLICA 24 11 LIVE IN GDANSK - DAVID GILMOUR 25 17 THE SCRIPT - SCRIPT 26 18 GLAS VEGAS - GLAS VEGAS 27 NE NO POINT IN WASTING TEARS - IRONIK 28 NE AND THEN BOOM - IGLU AND HARTLEY 29 NE ODE TO J SMITH - TRAVIS 30 22 18 HITS - ABBA Outside this top 30 album preview: 32 Seasick Steve, Val Doonican 34, Jennifer Hudson 35, Mercury Rev 36. Jonas Brothers go back up...Compilations Girls Night In, and Global Underground are also in the top 40. The top 50 brings re-worked New Order collections (over 4 positions). Fotheringay, and Trivium slide in. Godskitchen 09, is also in. Also, don`t forget John Foxx, he is in to the top 50, as well. I don`t think I made any major mistakes there! But if I have, I`m sure I will soon know! Does anyone actually want a vintage chart to end with, via Radio Luxembourg? If you do..open for requests, and other info...Thank You! :teresa: Quickly had a request for the Luxembourg "Next Week`s Top 30", for Sept 1986. This was it, and Radio Luxembourg did quite well that week! 01 07 WORD UP - CAMEO 02 01 DON`T LEAVE ME THIS WAY - COMMUNARDS 03 05 I JUST DIED IN YOUR ARMS TONIGHT - CUTTING CREW 04 22 RAIN OR SHINE - FIVE STAR 05 04 WE DON`T HAVE TO TAKE OUR CLOTHES OFF - JERMAINE STEWART 06 10 WALK THIS WAY - RUN DMC 07 11 THORN IN MY SIDE - EURYTHMICS 08 25 RUMOURS - TIMEX SOCIAL CLUB 09 09 GLORY OF LOVE - PETER CETERA 10 03 HOLIDAY RAP - MC MIKER G AND DJ SVEN 11 21 SWEET FREEDOM - MICHAEL MCDONALD 12 12 STUCK WITH YOU - HUEY LEWIS AND THE NEWS 13 02 RAGE HARD - FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD 14 06 I WANT TO WAKE UP WITH YOU - BORIS GARDINER 15 NE ONE GREAT THING - BIG COUNTRY 16 20 PRETTY IN PINK - PSYCADELIC FURS 17 18 HOLD ON TIGHT - SAMANTHA FOX 18 26 FOREVER LIVE AND DIE - ORCHESTRAL MANOUEVRES IN THE DARK 19 19 IN TOO DEEP - GENESIS 20 13 YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME - BON JOVI 21 08 LOVE CAN`T TURN AROUND - FARLEY JACKMASTER FUNK 22 14 BROTHER LOUIE - MODERN TALKING 23 NE BRAND NEW LOVER - DEAD OR ALIVE 24 NE HEARTLAND - THE THE 25 29 ROCK N` ROLL MERCENARIES - MEAT LOAF/JOHN PARR 26 17 WHEN I THINK OF YOU - JANET JACKSON 27 16 HUMAN - HUMAN LEAGUE 28 NE MONTEGO BAY - AMAZULU 29 NE ALWAYS THERE - MART WEBB/SIMON MAY 30 NE WHO WANT`S TOO LIVE FOREVER - QUEEN No surprising Radio Luxembourg were doing good in 1986, because they actually took early sales info from MRIB, with added airplay. So, this was as accurate as Luxembourg ever could be..but it didn`t last that long! In 1986, they had 18 in the 20, 26 in the top 30, and 8 in the top 10. Although, Cameo only managed to outsell Communards for one day! And what a shame the Timex Social Club, could not get the Gallup top 10 with "Rumours". We certainly won`t forget MC Miker G And DJ Sven, having a "Ring Ringa Ding For A Holiday!" There are a lot of lost classics here, though..Meat Loaf, Queen, The The, Dead Or Alive, OMD, Big Country all having hits, that just never turn up, anymore. I must contact Shaun Tilly at KCFM too play some of these, on his Sunday afternoon show "I Haven`t Heard It For Ages".
September 29, 200816 yr Thanks dave Is the album chart based on presales and sales from today ? Edited September 29, 200816 yr by sunday
September 29, 200816 yr Author Thanks dave Is the album chart based on presales and sales from today ? Yep, as is the singles..in order to cover the full week`s prediction. In looking at the Physical sales alone..it depicts that the older generation, prefer physical copies, and the under 30s go for downloads, without worrying about the physical. Obviously, the older lot are getting more excercise from going to the local HMV store! ;)
September 29, 200816 yr Thanks Dave. Really hope this is how the album chart looks at the end of the week. :w00t: Edited September 29, 200816 yr by truly talented
September 29, 200816 yr I'll be shocked if Will Young knocks Kings Of Leon from No.1 on the album chart!
September 29, 200816 yr I'll be shocked if Will Young knocks Kings Of Leon from No.1 on the album chart! You are not the only one
September 29, 200816 yr I don't think this is how the chart is going to look come Sunday! I think there may be some changes.
September 29, 200816 yr Author You are not the only one I actually agree with you. The boys at HMV were looking into the Supermarkets here i.e. Tesco, Sainsburys, and Asda. They say that the push will once again come from "the slightly older person". Personally I can`t see Will pushing passed the Kings Of Leon. Not after the remarkable feat accomplished last week! The gang at HMV also say Will only entered their chart today at 9. With the physical single sinking from 1 to 4.
September 29, 200816 yr Thanks Dave :yahoo: I guess it must be tight between the top 3? Is it? But for now :cheer: Here's hoping for Will! I said last week he's become an album artist now :D
September 29, 200816 yr 03 NE LOVE YOU ANYWAY - BOYZONE 06 NE SHOCK OF THE LIGHTNING - OASIS Interesting information to swipe for my chart predictions tommorow :heehee: :P
