Oasis return with the first single from their seventh studio album, ‘Dig Out Your Soul’. ‘The Shock Of The Lightning’, is regarded by principal song-writer Noel Gallagher as one of the band’s most instant songs. The B-side to the single is the sought after Chemical Brothers remix of ‘Falling Down’, another song from ‘Dig Out Your Soul’. The Chemical Brothers remix is a psychedelic, acid-tinged take of the track which has been climbing club and radio charts after Big Brother sent it to a handful of DJ’s around the world. - HMV

Thank god this horrid Oasis song got nowhere near #1!

Good top 2 this week. :D

I agree completely :D

Oasis are dull. and this is one of their worser tracks, thank god it didnt get to number 1.

The Chemical Brothers' rexmixes are good though.

Oasis are like Red Hot Cilli Peppers! They music back then was amazing and sometimes ground breaking but now it all sounds the same, my mom bought the album a few days back and she's not impressed

Very happy to see Ireland's answer to Take That and New Kids On The Block back on the chart with a good record. Too bad the group in the US only could a minor chart single on the AC chart and an album that petered out at #172 on the album chart in 1998.

Think #2 for the Sugababes next week.

Boyzone hopefully out of the Top 10 next week. Ronan has the worst attitude, OR is just really $h!t at getting publicity

The Shock Of The Lightning is a brilliant track - very much a return to form for Oasis. Glad it has made the top 3 ^_^
Tragedy, best single in YEARS and it gets beaten by a very average song from P!nk :(

Though Tennessee's Kings of Leon are a rock band from the south, that doesn't mean they're a Southern Rock band. The Followill brothers Caleb, Jared, and Nathan (along with their cousin Matthew) play a straight-ahead, hard-driving brand of rock & roll that owes more to Crazy Horse and the Rolling Stones than it does to Molly Hatchet. Their debut album, 2003's YOUTH & YOUNG MANHOOD showed them to be an earthier equivalent to garage-rock contemporaries like the White Stripes and the Strokes. - HMV
