October 11, 200816 yr Well, jason said they even might try to break Us with this song and are going to send it over there to see how it goes. If he said that the song must be very good+ Take That are the biggest pop band at the moment so it most definitely will go to number one.

If he said that the song must be very good+ Take That are the biggest pop band at the moment so it most definitely will go to number one. Jason did not say they were going to try and break the US though. He actually made a simple comment that 'he thought one or two songs may go down well in the US'. And from that, the Sun decided to say they were out to conquer America! The most opportune moment they had to do such a thing was with Rule The World when the film Stardust was first out. At least some US film-goers were asking about the film song, despite Paramount putting no promotion into the film itself. Besides ... they're way too old now to start that malarky. I imagine, and this is my view alone, that they will even cut back on their tour and when it is announced ... it'll be UK and Ireland only. That is just my view. October 11, 200816 yr Britney should be #01, she deserves it more I think. Take That have already proved themselves. :( 'Womanizer' is an amazing song and has an amazing video to match which 'Gimme More' didn't have so hopefully that can work in it's advantage.
October 11, 200816 yr Which radio station will play this on Mon. at 8.15? Mustn't forget. It's on Capital FM's new playlist I see.
October 11, 200816 yr Love Take That - will deffo be number 1 if not then top 3 (and will be in the top 10 for weeks and weeks!)
October 11, 200816 yr Which radio station will play this on Mon. at 8.15? Mustn't forget. It's on Capital FM's new playlist I see. All local radio stations are playing it at 8.15 on Monday. Gary Barlow is doing a phone in to Chris Moyles at Radio 1 at about 8 am to introduce. Norma
October 11, 200816 yr need to make a mental note of that, I should be around at 8 on Monday to hear it first time
October 11, 200816 yr I think Britney will be number 1 a week before Take That release 'Greatest Day'.

October 11, 200816 yr Shine is better than both of those though  I think its by far their worst. So corny its unbelievable. :puke2: I'll be just getting off the bus from school at 8.05, looks like i'll miss it then
October 11, 200816 yr #1 Take That, but also Britney have big chance for #1. One week for TT one for Britney and im happy :D

October 13, 200816 yr I'm sure there'll be a new thread on their new single, I've just heard the first play and first impression? Gary's vocals are as ever lovely  but I'm afraid the song didn't grab me and I found it pretty tame to be honest, sorry Norma, :( maybe it'll grow on me hopefully.

I was thinking pretty much the same on first listen. It seems to be all verse with no chorus joining in - it doesn't break up 'verse chorus verse'. It gives the same impression to me as Chasing Cars - I felt the same about that. I like it - but it isn't that great! I still think it'll probably be number 1 but just for one week .... and it definitely won't stick around (or in the memory) as Rule The World. I think RTW was their opus! Norma

Same here, just didn't really do it for me on first listen. May be a grower. Edited October 13, 200816 yr by Crazy Chris
October 13, 200816 yr I like it. It's not Rule The World (which I liked so much I bought the movie, too!) but, hey, I don't complain. Nicely put, I rather Take That get no 1 than some other bland pop throw. Then Britney can have a shot at the top spot . Everyone will be happy then.
October 13, 200816 yr I think it only deserves to go top 5, i heard it this morning and i dont think that it is anything special at all.
October 13, 200816 yr I think it only deserves to go top 5, i heard it this morning and i dont think that it is anything special at all. Yes but at least its not a cover Dan! It ain't their best, but their mediocre is a lot better than some other bands' best ... I'm mentioning no names! Norma
October 13, 200816 yr Gary sounded good on it but the song didn't seem to have a hook, very forgettable.
October 13, 200816 yr Yeah, i have to agree with the majority here. The song is quite mediocre by Take That standarts. But i thought that Chasing Cars was quite a bland song and it turned out to be one of the biggest hits of the year. Not sure what to think. Edited October 13, 200816 yr by locott
