Who would have thought that the song that was new at #12 would not only become a #1, but also become one of the biggest hits of the year? And who would have thought that the song at #10 would also become a top 3 hit in a couple of week's time?

 

Also of note are the 5 consecutive new entries lower down (#49-#53).

 

And finally - who expected the song at #11 to be #11 again exactly one year later (albeit in a different version)?

How strange seeing Tony Christie at No.11, spooky indeed

there were some incredibly BAD songs in that chart.... utter tripe, however there were also some excellant tracks, led by gorillaz.
