October 14, 200816 yr That's complete bollocks. Many people regard Coldplay's first two albums as masterpieces containing some great British anthems (sound familiar?) they then came back with a third album which was a bit drab in comparison and never really recieved the same acclaim of the first ones (sound familiar) but instead of plodding along with the same old $h!te they took enough time out, working with different people, refining their style to come back with an album as good as (and I think better) than their first two. It CAN be done! Blur did it with 'Blur' and '13' after 'Parklife' and 'The Great Escape'. oh look mr clever clogs is back again..... if oasis made a radiohead album they would be slated. one minute people say oasis are $h!t now and the first 2 are great... so if oasis wanna better those first 2 they have to write the same stuff as the first 2. No thanks i dont want oasis turning into fake $h!t... trying to write the same wonderwall of 2008. Edited October 14, 200816 yr by Jez
October 14, 200816 yr Dear god this thread is an embarrasing cringeworthy read, Oasis fans telling everyone who states their opinion that their wrong? Give it a rest, how old are you? :/ I don't particularly like Oasis but if you like them, fair enough. They have to cater to someones taste I suppose. But their songs do sound the same, the only memorable songs they've had in a long time is ''The Importance Of Being Idle'' maybe at a push? I've never had the misfortune of listening to one of their albums but judging by their single quality it doesn't seem that they've managed much progress in however many years. And please don't judge someone just by what they have in their sigs. It's rather childish and stupid and just makes you look bad, god forbid if someone has a opinion other than yours. I'm not going to go on now because I'm sure you'll prove me wrong with a witty remark or a big essay on how you're in fact right and I'm wrong!

October 14, 200816 yr come on people we gotta admit this has been a good thread TBH...atleast it has give this place a wake up call that people can't slate the big boys (oasis)without getting pushed against the wall.. Oh $h!t i'm in trouble no shouldn't have said that.
October 14, 200816 yr I think comparing Oasis to Mcfly, the Saturdays and Britney is embarrasing. Is that the only acts people know on here?!
October 14, 200816 yr I think comparing Oasis to Mcfly, the Saturdays and Britney is embarrasing. Is that the only acts people know on here?! Apart from 'McFly' the other 2 were bought in by Oasis 'Fans' themselves... (personally digs at sigs etc...) which like i've said before weren't really needed to be bought into all this!

Although it kills me to say this about Coldplay, but their singles last longer in the charts! which is what this thread was all about! Nobody getting on Oasis' back when they have a fall like McFly did when McFly got constantly attacked and made fun of. So apparently coz it's Oasis... it's not allowed?

So apparently coz it's Oasis... it's not allowed? coz this thread was a way to give Mcfly a more credible status... Plz you know what oasis have done in their career in the charts (if that's what your going to go end with). i wouldn't mind this thread about coldplay but McFly is pathetic. Oasis have made a footprint atleast in the uk as one of the most successful and influential bands of our time. They don't need to sell another copy of an album/single to be more credible TBH. I'm not saying they should make a Radiohead album, but it wouldn't hurt them to make something A BIT DIFFERENT! I'm not for a minute saying they should make another 'Morning Glory' but would it really hurt them that much to just differentiate their style a bit? Prove to people there's more to them than dad/lad anthems? Edited October 14, 200816 yr by RabbitFurCoat

I'm sorry but which part of the comparison was wrong exactly? No one has said that the two sound alike, the only thing people have said is that like McFly, Oasis singles are almost entirely fanbase and physical orientated and have short chart runs. And that's correct...

You're comparing Oasis with Radiohead? o_O;; Radiohead, a band who has always met with mass critical acclaim, progressed immensely in sound, and have always been extremely innovative? And a band, if I can recall, Oasis have deemed 'boring'. LOL. Ironic. I mean come on. Oasis haven't gotten acclaim since Morning Glory by any really credible critics. =/ NME sure, but I simply do not trust them whatsoever, too many daft reviews.
October 14, 200816 yr Oasis are rubbish, so are McFly. End of arguement. it's your a opinion... but f*** off. atleast reply with an elaborated post..rather than being a ignorant little t***.
October 15, 200816 yr Author WOW! I only started this thread for a laugh cos i thought it was funny how oasis did a mcfly but no one got on their back! I can't believe it's turned into this huge slanging match! For the record i didn't start this thread to try and give mcfly any credibility and i'm not comparing mcfly's music to oasis! (although ironically the song 'room on the 3rd floor' is pretty much an oasis rip off lol) And also just for the record, i love oasis, i love mcfly and i quite like britney too... hope that's allowed
October 15, 200816 yr I loved Oasis first 2 albums. But I think McFly recently have produced better work than Oasis. I used to hate McFly when they started, but lately they've been doing good stuff imo.
October 16, 200816 yr Oasis are rubbish, so are McFly. End of arguement. AGREED but Oasis UNLIKE their idols the BEATLES have not only lost their mass appeal (watch that album PLUMMET despite any further single released(unlikely as they will MEGA FLOP and wreck their chart run further) but their credibility ( the Beatles experimented SUCCESFULLY eg SPLHCB while the general PUBLIC think Oasis continue to constantly turn out emminently missible insipid cod psychadelica - the only progression they make is that on each follow up album their original hit formula becomes progressively more watered down + turgid - whether thats because we become increasingly tired of hearing the same couple of tunes endlessly recycled or *NOEL* only ever had limmited 1 trick pony talent we may never know......BUT one thing is certain NOASIS fanatics are as DUMB + arrogant as living historical relic NEADERTHAL Liam with such irrational continued adoration
October 17, 200816 yr It seems that people think that just because Oasis have fallen massivley and as do McFly that people think they should just give up. Releasing music isn't just about sales. Look at Colbie Calliat (sp?) for example people on this forum were raving about her but her single didn't get top 40, no-one got on her back. I'm not saying that people shouldn't like Britney and not Oasis or visa versa but just because someone doesn't like one aritst doesn't mean everyone should get on each others back. I'm an Oasis fan and I'm 16. I loved Britney's Gimmie More. It's a very generalization to say just because the single flops that they should give up
