I don't think they mimed it at all. It sounded live to me.

You should watch it again, it's definitely mimed. Eoghan seems to have two voices and is a little computerised at the start . The same 'computer' effect seems to happen when Girlband sing as well. Austin definitely covers Danny at about 3:04 as someone is 'singing' but Austin isn't moving his lips. Ruth's voice is also on there, but I think it's for more than one part that Laura and Alex both cover up well as I'm finding it quite hard to tell when exactly this happens.

is it just me when the cameras flash onto the judges at the end of the song, before demort speaks, they all look really confused as if to say wtf just happened?

01 - Scott Bruton - That's Life: Oh dear. After a good week last week, this is rubbish. Maybe he does have a good voice, but it's not good enough -_- 4/10

02 - Daniel Evans - Lady is a Tramp What is this? I think I dislike him the most out of all the contestants! (Not HIM personally but I mean in this competition) What is he still doing here? Hopefully after tonight i won't be saying that! 2/10

03 - Laura White - God Bless the Child Well, One of the favourites, and TBH I do not understand the appeal with her at all. Her voice is so, annoying! And this performance didn't appeal to me either :( 6/10

04 - Eoughan Quigg - L-O-V-E I must say I am actually quite surprised. But his voice is still too soft. It's actually quite good, his best yet I think. But his voice is still a bit bleh. 6/10

05 - Ruth Lorenzo - Summertime Good song choice I think. She actually pulled it off quite well. But I don't think she really needed to try as hard as she did TBH because 'Purple Rain' should be enough to carry her to AT LEAST the Semi's IMO -_- But this was a great performance nonetheless. 9/10

06 - Alexandra Burke - Candyman Brilliant song choice. Great performance. It was really good. Probably her best to date. 10/10

07 - Austin Drage - Mack the Knife I must say the song suits him so much. I didn't realise how much until he started singing. It was actually a really good performance! 9/10

08 - JLS - Ain't That a Kick in the Head They have really progressed and TBH they keep getting better & better. This performance was very good! 9/10

09 - Diana Vickers - Smile I must admit, I was quite worried for her in this week with her voice not being, Big Band-ish but in fact it was perfect, especially for that song! She does it once again and I said earlier if she nails this one, she has it pretty much in the bag IMO, and she DID NOT disappoint! Not her best admittedly, but I LOVED IT! 10/10

10 - Rachel Hylton - Feeling Good This is a much better song choice for her. Suits her voice so much, and I think she may have saved herself with this one! Although I do feel she 'Shouted' a few times rather than Sang  9/10

Diana remains my fave! 3rd week in a row. Alexandra was amazing tonight too! Austin Surprisingly good. Rachel has saved herself. I really don't understand the appeal with Laura, I really don't :( JLS were very good. Eoughan surprisingly good. Ruth was brilliant - but I still preffered 'Purple Rain'. The other two however, should DEFINATELY be the bottom two. Scott should stay over Daniel though!

Oh God. I'm watching the Help For Heroes performance again, and it's pretty embarrasing. Some of the miming is awful, really really awful. Rachel and Laura are the worst at it (but that might be to the fact they have the biggest parts), and also at about 3.35 Austin has a big WTF moment when he's meant to be singing haha.

I'm sure Ruth's bit was meant to be around 3.40, as you can see them all looking a bit puzzled at one stage.

The timing may be different on yours but it sounds like you're talking about the '2.57-3.07' bit from before when Laura mimes badly and then Austin forgets to sing. We think that's where Ruth is meant to be singing (hence Laura not miming too perfectly), and then Daniel (hence Austin forgetting to mime)... so it's not really their fault.

Rachel however, was just $h!t at it!

RECAP from last night:

Scott - That's Life would have been a great choice for Daniel, not a teenager. I love Frank Sinatra's version, but the "cry-baby" was completely out of his depth attempting that. 4

Daniel - The Lady Is A Tramp More Des O'Connor than Frank Sinatra, easily his best effort to date, not that it is anywhere near good enough to win of course. 6

Laura - God Bless The Child - What TF planet are the judges on? She was good but nowhere near THAT good. Compared to Billie Holiday, Ray Charles or Liza Minnelli's versions it was less than special as it lacked the emotional pathos required. It was more Gabriella Cilmi than (pre drugs) Amy Winehouse. 7

Eoghan - L.O.V.E. - What TF planet are the judges on 2? They are really taking the mickey. That was sub standard Gareth Gates on a bad day lame. His vocals are shocking, yet the judges ignore that. 2

Ruth - Summertime A very sultry emotional performance. Something Simon Cowell completely fails to grasp hence why he thinks the technically excellent yet emotionally vacuous Laura is the bees knees and he continues to have digs at Ruth. 7

From watching on ITV's website this morning:

Alexandra - Candyman A great vocal performance with good styling & choreography. But my one big critique of her is that she seems incapable of being original and only seems to be able to reproduce that artists versions of the tracks she is covering. If this was Stars In Your Eyes she'd be favourite, but this show is called The X Factor.... 8

Austin - Mack The Knife Taking on the Bobby Darin jazz standard, Austin delivers a very good performance. He slightly lost control of this big song towards the end, but at least he has exposed the difference in quality between him & Scott, and has shown he has charisma when performing. 7

JLS - Ain't That A Kick In The Head Another really good performance. Far superior to Westlife's murder of the Rat Pack classic. They seem to be getting better each week. Again I'm left mystified by Simon's comments. 7

Diana - Smile Taking on the Charlie Chaplin penned classic made famous by Nat King Cole. I love this song. Tonight's performance reminded me of echoes of Katie Melua and Ricki Lee Jones but it was an utterly original delivery. I keep saying it every week, but she just has to win. 9

Rachel - Feeling Good At last she has nailed a performance. Bar going a bit shouty in places that was close to perfect. 9

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK so unfortunately I heard the result last night, but I would have predicted the bottom two correctly, as although Eoghan is awful he clearly has a very large fanbase and could well be this year's Leon Jackson.

As for the sing off: like last week, one was mediocre and the other sung out of their skin to deliver easily his best performance of the series by a huge margin. Therefore the judges were 100% spot on in them voting to save Daniel over Scott.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Help For Heroes - Hero What an absolutely hideous track, with them miming = surely an X Factor first, but probably allowing that to justify when Britney Spears appears on the show. The third week running when the "Guest" act is the worst performance of the night.

Diana and Rachel were the best last night :yahoo: Finally Rachel got a song that suited her well.

As much as i like Daniel and that he did give an amazing final performance. I was a bit annoyed at how he got saved by the judges on SYMPATHY. P.s. Sad Scott is out as last week was amazing :(

Did anyone see Adele, Andi Peters And Taio Cruz on Xtra factor last night :o You couldn't get any better than this. What on earth was Taio wearing :o

Adele was looked amazing last night Plus Cowell complimented one of Adele's songs saying one of her song he adores

What a shambles of a show, :heehee: it was great to watch it all degenerate as it went on, blooper followed blooper and you couldn't have got a better show if Peter Kay had scripted it all himself. Loius Walsh shedding the crocodile tears for the fat serial impregnator Daniel. The door jamming on Daniel and Ruth, probably sobbing and miming behind it and the camera cutting to Austin miming Daniels bit badly, what a cringeworthy classic.

Daniel was rubbish again this week.

The only thing that saved him was the sob story.

Best of this week IMO were Laura & Diana

Laura has hints of Duffy in her voice and Diana hints of Dolores O'Riorden (from the Cranberries) crossed with the softness of Katie Melua

my 3rd choice would have been Alexandra and Scott 4th.

For my the bottom 2 should have been Daniel and either shouter Rachel or JLS

And for next week's Disco theme I'd have Laura singing Donna Summer's version of MacArthur Park -

Diana singing her own version of the Bee Gees - How Deep Is Your Love

Ruth could sing - Yes Sir I Can Boogie - after all Baccara were Spanish

Please no-one sing - Hot Stuff - I Will Survive or Young Hearts Run Free. They've been done to death.

Diana is style over substance - her voice just isn't that great. Her diction is bad, each week she becomes just that little bit more irritating, contrived and mannered. She's OK in very small doses.

Loved Laura first week but she has disappointed me ever since. Thought last night she really wasn't that good - again impossible to understand most of the words and strange slurred delivery.

The best for me Alexandra (although she's just missing something, not sure what) and Rachel (but not particularly likeable).

Ruth I quite like as well

Eoghan, Daniel were bad.

Austin is Ok - but again just something missing, not especially good looking or likeable just a good voice.

JLS were OK

Eurgh @ Everyone bum raping Diana. She's not that good.

I agree, she's dire imo and someone should tie her hands behind her back, straighten her birds nest hair do and put some bloody shoes on her feet.

She's not the first to sing in bare feet - Sandie Shaw did and she had a great career.

I can't stand Rachel. Her voice is average. She has a really horrible attitude about her which is so off-putting, like she's the next best thing. She isn't, I've heard that song sung a lot better.

But she is unique. and such a doll.

I'm so with you there.

Why is Alexandra singing Ruths part?

One question: How and why is Daniel still in the competition?!

And oh dear :( Big Band this week, Disco next week :(

For someone that hates cabaret (sp?) singers, Simon Cowell isnt making it easy for them now is he

Surely Daniel must be running out of songs by now that he can connect to his wife?
