Well no, most artists don't do much promo after the third single has flopped. But I don't see why she wouldn't have done X Factor otherwise? She did Paul O'Grady and Sunday Night Project which are both low profile shows, if anything X Factor or Strictly are the shows I would most expect Mariah to appear on - the ones with huge audiences. I'm not quite sure why she's even appearing on the show, she doesn't have a single scheduled and I don't think album is being re-released yet.

I used to love Mariah at one time until she jumped on the R&B bandwagon.

I don't think she jumped on the R&B bandwagon, at least not recently. She was 'on it' as far back as 1999 at least as she did 'Heartbreaker' and on the album before that there was a remix of 'Honey' that was quite R&B.

Your posts just get more and more mature don't they?

From ITV TV Guide:

Special guest Mariah Carey sings live and then the eight remaining acts have the tough task of following in the American diva's footsteps by each performing one of her songs.

About next week's theme.

Ooh I'm in two minds about this. Those songs are murdered often enough but there are some people I'd love to hear performing them.

I can imagine Alexandra being brilliant, those I'm not sure about any of the others, other than possibly Laura and Rachel.

Don't forget Diana she is the darkhorse of this contest

Oooh, im not sure about that. Alexandra and a few others are bound to do well but some may well struggle.

Daniel must sing Touch My Body if he's still there though

As much I love Diana, I can't see her doing Mariah. Also, she's hardly the dark horse anymore, really.

I think she is one of the best on the 'Hero' single, she could easily pull it off - who'd have thought she's shine on Michael Jackson week?!

Yeah, you're probably right.

 Touch My Body!

Diana will actually be OK on Mariah week, she has the smooth vocal's that Mariah has only difference is, Mariah can get to the higher notes more! And I'm sure they'll figure out a way to make it work for Diana! ^_^

I hope Alexandra does 'We Belong Together'

EXCLUSIVE: Louis: 'The sympathy vote got to me'

Friday, October 31 2008, 09:54 GMT

By Neil Wilkes, Editor

Louis Walsh has admitted that he "fell for the sympathy vote" on last week's The X Factor.

The judge kept in Daniel Evans instead of Scott Bruton in the final sing-off, despite having earlier said that Evans' performance was 'end-of-the-pier at Blackpool'.

Diana is apparently singing...

Blondie - Call Me

:o

Does anyone know anymore song choices? that's all I know
 I'm sure she'll do it justice. Just had a browse on DS and couldn't see anything, so I think that's the only known one.

Apparent song choices according to several on DS

Alexandra Burke - On The Radio

Austin Drage - Wishing On A Star

Daniel Evans - Don't Leave Me This Way

Rachel Hylton - Lost In Music

JLS - Working My Way Back To You

Ruth Lorenzo - No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)

Eoghan Quigg - Could It Be Magic

Diana Vickers - Call Me

Laura White - Somebody Else's Guy

Obviously needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.

The only song of those i know is Eoghan's LOL and i hope think he'll slaughter it :heehee:

Booo. Anyone remember this on American Idol where the whole show was made around Mariah. Was pretty boring and they received the lowest viewers for that season.

And some of them song choices are awful.
