Voting leaks revealing that the winner had a 35 point lead has led us to believe it can only be Margaret. Revelations that most people are judging on song quality only has caused odds for Katy Perry, Sara Bareilles, P!nk and others to be slashed. While rumours that a former winner isn't doing too well has caused drops for Katharine, Britney, Beverley, t.A.T.u. and a slight dip for the Dixie Chicks.

Continued vocal support for Mira Craig has shortened her odds while Gavin and Gigi's odds shorten as it was revealed a song that relied on self-nominations is doing better and it is speculated that it is most likely to be these two songs.

I don't feel like the song 'represents' the BJSC as much as some songs that many of us have only heard because of this contest (Black Butta, Will You Remember Me Tomorrow, Money Note, Mine All Mine etc...)

I dunno, I think I might vote for the 'BJSC' songs mostly, but it seems that others are just voting for the songs and 'Love Song' is certainly one of the best songs that has been entered to this contest and it wasn't cheap at all at the time.

8 of the 10 songs I gave my points to were songs I discovered via this contest...two I already knew but I felt they were strong enough to warrant points anyway, so maybe you're right and people will vote for the big hits :o

Looking at my votes, i voted for 4 songs that i discovered through this competition. I myself have never taken into account how well known a song is when giving points though.

It was #3 on my Personal Chart at the time, but I decided not to enter it because I thought it was too uncommercial for BJSC tastes and went with Duffy's Distant Dreamer instead in BJSC X.

In fact my 4 of my votes (and high marks too) for Best Of are songs i'd already known, i like them too much not to give high points :wub:

Me too :cheer: I don't care if the songs I vote for are "Cheap" :lol: If I like the song I will give points. OK if I think it's a bit cheap then I won't give it as many points as I would do a usual song. But If I think a "Cheap" song is the best song in the contest then I WILL give it 12 points...

I've currently got it down to about 15 songs which was hard enough. There are 5 hits on this shortlist, it'd be easy to cut them out but I don't think that's entirely fair. I'll work something out, but I feel like I would rather reward songs that weren't singles.

Right Here is the most recent winner in this contest, it's very fresh and will be fresh in the minds of the voters who gave it 12/10 in BJSCX

 

plus I certainly first heard of it via this contest, I don't go searching for Brandy's music, so unless it is forced upon me I'm not likely to hear it :heehee:

 

If I'm completely honest, I'd prefer to do better with my other 3 entries than Love Song, although Love Song is by far my favourite musically, I am prouder of the other three entries, just because it was obvious that after being a hit in the US, it was bound to do something at least in the UK...whereas Sanna, Untouched and Maria/Mira few people would probably ever have heard of had I not sent them to the contest...I wouldn't even be bothered if Sara finished last, but I would be bothered if any of the other three did :P

Just because I think Sara will do better than you expect doesn't mean none of the others will. ;o I hope Mine All Mine is the most succesful out of your four...the only one I've given points to in previous competitions. XD (Even if it was only one point :( BJSCVII was tough competition!)

I am also rooting for Mine All Mine and dare I say it, I wouldn't mind Sanna coming higher than Untouched, but given the Smack Me love on here by a number of posters, that looks highly unlikely...I fully expect Sanna to get lost in the mix and wouldn't be surprised if she finished last actually

I always appreciate all points by the way, 1 or 12! I know usually the song I give 1 point too is an amazing song, certainly I usually have 5 or 6 songs that I love that I award nothing at all too, espeically in the more recent contests!
