2,050,922 - Good Girl Gone Bad

Thank you!

Do you fave figures for any of her other albums ?

Love On The Brain going gold is amazing <3 I think the catalogue 'sales' of the singles show that although none of them bar Work were big at the time they have a legacy and are deffo way more remembered than you'd think. Although I'd say Needed Me was fairly big, it had a fab chart run despite the #38 peak and tbf I don't think it was sent to radio here?

Omg yas at three album tracks being certified silver, one more to go then we're at 50% of the masterpiece <3 I'm not sure what will come next if anything (in the near future at least), 'Yeah, I Said It' is the next album track down in Spotify streams although it's kinda far between it and the top three. Close to you, Higher and Same Ol' Mistakes aren't far behind YISI (:frankie:) so maybe I'm wildly overestimating but if that's certified soon they could be too.

ANTI may not have the pure sales of her other albums but I'd say the album tracks are her best known ever. Justice.

I'm bored so I worked out the sales chart run for ANTI ;o

[RE: 01/09/16] 98-x

Total: 28w

So it spent 60 weeks on the overall chart but only 28 on the sales chart :o Interesting that it still would've peaked higher on sales even though there wasn't even a CD out in the first week :') 60 weeks in the top 100 is her 4th highest behind GGGB, Loud and Rated R but on sales, only Music Of The Sun spent less. I wonder how much it's sold pure? 100-150k?

Thanks so much for that!

What a interesting sales run it had. It’s funny how it peaked higher on sales only and was denied a higher peak bc of streaming but streaming was what held it up! It’s pure sales total may be the lowest of all her albums tbh but I assume this album has sold the most streaming copies.

I think it’s sales chart run is more the kinda genre it is though. The type of music on this album streams well doesn’t usually sell very well.

28 weeks is still rather high for an artists 8th album though but streaming doubling its chart run and then some shows she transitioned effortlessly from sales to streams.

It shows that despite Kiss It Better flopping (:neyde:) It still had more of an effect on the album than it's chart run would as it went back into the top 40 sales. Needed Me (which was a legit hit) and LOTB didn't do anything at all D:

I agree it's not bad, I'm happy with it's overall performance I just wish it'd sold more in it's first few weeks. Despite the messy release it really should've sold a bit more initially tbh oops

I'm still amazed she never put Four Five Seconds, BBHMM and American Oxygen on the album - what was the reason for that?
I wonder how much it's sold pure? 100-150k?

Probably much less than that actually! :o

I've worked out the breakdown of sales for its first two weeks:

Week 1: 20,136 [physicals: 507 | downloads: 16,789 | streams: 2,840]

Week 2: 14,289 [physicals: 6,552 | downloads: 3,632 | streams: 4,105]

That's just 27,480 pure sales in its first two weeks, which is really poor for Rihanna, regardless of the circumstances surround its release.

Considering the album never achieved over 10k overall weekly sales again, it probably managed around Silver in pure sales.

Even for 2016 that’s....bad  I can’t believe so few people purchased such an amazing album! At a rough estimate, let’s say it sold 1.5k pure sales a week for the rest of its run on the sales chart. (Is that too generous? I know pure album sales in 2016 were down a bit but they were much much better than now) 1.5 x 26 = 39k, which would put it around 66k and maybe 75k total pure sales? Eek. Let’s stick to the combined chart with Rih for anything post FourFiveSeconds x

We will likely get a full update at some point this year for new Rihanna album sales totals for every era when we get R9.

The OCC tend to do that when there’s a new release on the way. We’ve just had a big update with Gagas career sales. It’ll be great to see what her catalogues sold lately. GGGB, Loud and ANTI are likely selling the most per week I’d imagine

Thank you!

Unfortunately no :( I only get to find out Good Girl Gone Bad and Loud because they're regularly in the Top 200! Streaming queen *.*

19/06/20:

2,089,078 - Loud

2,059,773 - Good Girl Gone Bad

Am I right in saying GGGB is catching up on Loud? I’m sure I remember the gap being larger than that not long ago. Also do you know when ANTI was last in the top 200? Sorry to question you :kink:

It is indeed catching up, but very slowly!

The gap between their sales on 10th April 2020 was ‭30,163‬, but now 10 weeks later it's ‭29,305‬. Loud is managing 799 sales per week on average, while Good Girl Gone Bad is 885 a week on average. If they continued to do that every week, Good Girl Gone Bad wouldn't overtake Loud until January 2027(!) by which point they'd have both sold 2,362,000.

As far as I can tell the last time ANTI was Top 200 was on 1st March 2019, which was its 129th week in the chart! At that point it had sold 272,632. Since then there's a couple of charts I don't have access to - 19th April 2019 and 14th June 2019, so I'm not sure if it might have re-entered on either of those dates unfortunately.

ANTI went Platinum on 13th December 2019, an increase of ‭more than ‭27,368‬ since 1st March 2019. That's 41 weeks, or 667.5 sales a week. #200 is usually always more than 700+, often 800+, so it must be quite far off Top 200 in most weeks. If it continued to sell at that rate, ANTI would be on 318,000+ now!

Thanks for that! <3

I’ll keep a look out in January 2027 then :cheeseblock:

ANTI is higher than GGGB and Loud on the Apple Music Albums chart so it’s weird it’s ‘selling’ much less. Hopefully it can re-enter when R9 comes.

It’s somehow been 4 months since Rih got any BPI certification, imma need to pour some water on this drought aka give streams.

The songs that are below 200k (Silver) that are most likely to get there anytime soon, just browsing through the first post of this topic I’d say are If I Never See Your Face Again, Hard (I thought this had gone Silver already for some reason mess) or another album track from ANTI, probably either Yeah, I Said It or Same Ol’ Mistakes although the three already certified (Consideration, Sesperado and Sex With Me) are quite far ahead on Spotify! The streams for the ANTI album tracks are wayyyyy ahead of her other albums.

Rehab, Te Amo, Cheers, What Now and Kiss It Better are next in line for gold I think

Believe It should go Silver next week, or maybe the one after.
