Posted November 14, 200816 yr Kanye West Justin Timberlake Diss: “I’m The Voice Of This Generation” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kanye West is the most influential musician of our generation, at least in his humble estimation. The 31-year-old Grammy Award winner egomantic reminded fans that humility is not strong suit in an interview with the Associated Press on Wednesday. “I realize that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, I will be the loudest voice,” Kanye insists. “It’s me settling into that position of just really accepting that it’s one thing to say you want to do it and it’s another thing to really end up being like Michael Jordan.” Would someone please tell him that he is not the voice of anything and the only thing he’s running is his mouth!? Kanye says he believes Justin Timberlake had a chance to be music’s new MVP, but charges that the former boy bander has not released enough material. “There were people who had the potential to do it but they went on vacation, so when Justin went on vacation I made albums. And it just came out to be that.” source: popcrunch.com
November 14, 200816 yr Author More like the biggest ass of our generation. Someone should just show up to his house taser him and then tell him to shut the f*** up.
November 14, 200816 yr I SERIOUSLY can NOT tolerate him at all! He has to be the celebrity that is most full of them selves!
November 15, 200816 yr Arrogant, but oompf is his new material good. A vile creature, and 'the voice'. Just another auto-tuned sampling robot. Yet you like Britney Spears? I mean...I love her, but if you're gonna complain about one artist using auto tune, surely you should judge all artists based on that...
November 15, 200816 yr I like his songs but he is the most full of him self c**t i know! his ego is too big!

I mean...I love her, but if you're gonna complain about one artist using auto tune, surely you should judge all artists based on that... Yes but she doesn't go around like 'I am the voice of this generation, worship me' attitude though. One of the main reasons i didnt take to 'Piece Of Me' aswell as everyone as did was because of how tinny and robotic her voice was made to sound, but she seems to of (pretty much) minimised the use of vocoder on Circus from the sound of the clips. Vocoder isnt always a bad thing e.g Daft Punk have some great songs.
November 16, 200816 yr I like this about him. He believes his work is good, so what's wrong with him thinking this? TBH in terms of Hip Hop he probably IS. I went to see him last week and it's so funny, he was like "this isn't a show, it's a f.ucking GIFT"
November 16, 200816 yr I love Kanye. Having confidence/arrogance sets you above everyone else PLUS he has a new album coming out... so he needs the media attention.
November 17, 200816 yr I agree with him and I love his arrogance. I mean, if I knew someone like that in real life, I would hate them, but it just shows that he believes he is great. I bet pretty much all famous people think they are great at what they do, but just don't go shouting about it. He's just speaking what he thinks, which is right - in my eyes (and ears) anyway -_-
November 21, 200816 yr ughhh....is anyone really suprised by this...he's like your really anoying little cousin that doesn't shut up..you just tune him out, but you still love him lol
November 23, 200816 yr Author Arrogant, but oompf is his new material good. Yet you like Britney Spears? I mean...I love her, but if you're gonna complain about one artist using auto tune, surely you should judge all artists based on that... I understand where you are coming from but Britney doesn't go around saying, "I'M THE VOICE OF THIS GENERATION AND EVERYONE ELSE SUCKS IN COMPARISON!". Britney does so well because she knows that dancing and entertaining are her strong points along with her strong likeable personality, not powerhouse vocals. And I will hand it to Kanye, half the reason he is so huge is because he is a talented writer and producer, and the other half is because he is a cocky ass that puts down other artists to make himself look better. Kanye is not a singer, even with autotune you can tell his voice is beyond weak. Now with that being said he is a great rapper, and an alright vocalist...but voice of our generation? No.
November 23, 200816 yr Actually, to an extent I kind of agree with him. I mean he was brave enough to declare on live television "George Bush doesn't care about black people". A brash, but slightly true comment and no-one expected this. Following on from statements like this, Kanye has alerted the media of homosexuality not being a bad thing and how it should be accepted within the Hip-hop industry. So if you take this two very brushed-upon subjects that Kanye has openly spoken about, I'd say he was working his way to be the voice of the generation.

I just dont see how Kanye of all people alerted the media of all things about homosexuality not being a bad thing... I think in this day and age its not the media that is the problem, i think the media if anything has accepted it. Well before Kanye "alerted" them  Its the people consuming the media that have trouble accepting it. You could say that he was the voice of a very small minority, but voice of generation? He isnt doing much for me. Ah you got to love A Level Media  Edited November 25, 200816 yr by Joao Filipe
November 25, 200816 yr Amazing producer? Yes... Really Tallented? Yes... Voice of Generation? Pfft Please! That's coming from someone who likes SOME of his stuff
