To be honest, I hope Emma and Mel B do more visible campaigning for trans people. Between them, Emma is the only one who every now and then shares a story on instagram but neither of them ever put themselves out there too much for the community. They could be protecting their children but I don't know... Both Tate and Angel are quite visible already...

I've pretty much lost hope, but you never know with Emma, she could randomly surprise us at some point!

I'm the same... I've kind of lost hope and have lost interest in all their solo projects as well, quite a long time ago.

I just hope she does indeed do a RSD vinyl for Free Me and Life in Mono so we can all move on lol

I’m sure Free Me and Life In Mono will be released on vinyl at some point, but I guess we’ll have to wait years before getting them… just like back when we had to wait years for the albums to finally arrive on streaming platforms…😅

Both are definitely protecting their children as much as they can, and I get it, society is f***ing vile towards trans people! 😓

Did anyone still know that Emma is STILL sat on that Podcast sofa doing shows with her (sexy as hell, I f***ing would do him all day long) and her terribly unfunny friends? LOL apparently it is a bit of a hit of a podcast.... Oh the straights... I will always find them so curious

ANYWAY, today Emma said that apparently back in the day she was asked by Phil Collins himself to be in the animated Tarzan movie, voicing the love interest Jane, AND to write songs with him.

Phil Collings ended up winning an Oscar for this, BUT our own Baby Spice said NO because she was about to film a TV film with Julie Andrews that was cancelled lol... of course she now regrets saying no lol

Oh Baby Bunton... what could have been...

Apparently she has been spilling things like that across all episodes but does anyone have the patience to go over all of them? lol

Another one was this story about Prince. We knew Prince went to the Spiceworld Tour and was very friendly with the girls, inviting them to his birthday and even doing that special with Mel B.

Here, Emma tells the story about how Prince and her hang out and he told her he was impressed by her voice specially, and that he loved the show and was happy that they were doing the full show live.

Pretty nice, specially when Prince is known for being quite brutal with his opinions of others. I can only imagine Emma and Prince hanging out at Cafe de Paris lol... It's an odd pairing.

Wild that Emma had so many opportunities in her solo career that went to waste. She could have easily gotten something with Prince, with Phil Collins, work with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis as well (they said they love her and would happily do solo work with her)...

I saw that. I do have a few questions.

Emma's Sleeping Beauty film was being reported to have fallen apart in August 1999. Tarzan was released in June 1999. The timing wouldn't seem to be right for Emma to have been offered Jane in a hand drawn animated film under that timeline.

Though. Could the failed Julie Andrews project be something other than Sleeping Beauty? Something earlier that...at least I wasn't aware of? Julie Andrews' botched vocal surgery was in 1997. So. Is this another project where Emma was also supposed to play a princess that fell through...?

well she says she was in rehearsals for it, and these things take a long time to make, so for all we know, it could have been in rehearsals early 1999 or something like that, or late 1998 and then it was cancelled before it went into production/filming...

I think it would be too much to have two different TV Film projects with Emma and Julie Andrews being cancelled back to back... The Sleeping Beauty thing was the only project we know about...

Plus when Emma says 'rehearsals', for all we know it could have just been early table readings - the very first thing you do when it comes to these projects, to get a bond going before proper rehearsals kick off... maybe Emma really thought this would take off...

I'm a huuuge Prince fan. And I love he was hanging out with Emma.

I actually do see where he'd be a fan of the Spice Girls. In the early 80s, Prince formed a girl group called Vanity 6. He wrote and produced their material. It was three women. One left. He kept the other two members. When a new lead came onboard, they became Appolonia 6. Anyway. They all had outfits that matched their distinct personalities. They each played a role in the group. The young, innocent one. The bad girl. The sexy one. I wouldn't say the groups broke into the mainstream enough to have any influence on the Spice Girls. The Vanity/Appolonia songs were a bit too edgy to make for big hits at the time. But I'm sure Prince saw the Spices as a better realized creation...reminiscent of what he'd tried earlier.

And yes, while he could be super critical of some artists...it's worth noting...of the four members of Vanity 6/Appolonia 6...only one of them could really sing. Another two got by on attitude. One (by her own admission) couldn't sing at all and just contributed with the occasional spoken word song. I kinda think Prince responded to artists' vibes as much as anything...
