And in 28th is one of our winners, Black Butta by Beverley Knight...now when I first saw this was being entered I thought nothing of it, but scraped up enough enthusiam to give it a point in the BJSCVI final...of course a couple of days later, I seriously regretted it and now it would be around the 8/10 mark...thank you Aaron and Quotosibb for that one!

I need more entries like this. I'm glad I introduced it to people. It's too good to be hidden on an album forever. Well, it's a live version, but I think this is superior.

I'm not sure if being low down on this list is that good though as it excludes plenty of songs.

to be considered for this list at all is a good thing! it means that you have introduced me to a great song, and surely that is far better than being reminded that a song you already know of exists

this was by far your best entry in terms of unexpectedness, it was a very pleasant surprise...I like/love most of your other entries (except Estelle) but they have all been songs I already know

10. BJSCX (12th in final): JRK-Off - Shontelle - T-Shirt

9. BJSCVI (9th in final): Kopecka - Serebro - Opium

8. BJSCVII (4th in final): Sangria - Linda Kiraly - Can't Let Go

starting off the top ten then, a highly underrated R&B song from upcoming singer Shontelle, like a mix of With You and Irreplaceable, it is nonetheless a fine example of its genre and should have finished top ten in BJSCX. Next up, Kopecka and Frahliso were fighting over it, nearly everyone thought that it would be the BJSCVI winner without taking into account that a hell of a lot of people wouldn't vote for it at all, because it's sung in Russian! Fantastic pop song and the only time Kopecka and FSR Rontvia have traded 12 points in the great 'Smack Me Opium love in'. And sounding a bit like what Natasha Bedingfield should have come back with instead of 'Babies', Linda Kiraly's 4th position in BSJCVII was well deserved, brilliant pop song

7. BJSCX (2nd in final): Torchwood - Lady Gaga - Paparazzi

6. BJSCV (9th in final): Triodopolis - Kate Voegele - Only Fooling Myself

5. BJSCVII (14th in final): Ashton - Red Blooded Women - Colour Me Dirty

next three then, Lady Gaga's second time in the contest was with a song just as good as the first, the Gwen Stefani-esque Paparazzi followed its predecessor into second place, once again behind mighty Mdice. Tridopolis have a second entry, the fantastic Only Fooling Myself from Kate Voegele, one of my 12 pointers I believe, and it led me to get her album...which I didn't like much  and into the top five we go with a stunning electropop song from Ashton, Red Blooded Women and their Yazoo sampling Colour Me Dirty, just as good if not better than If This Is Love by The Saturdays (another Yazoo sampler), this one finshed in a criminal 14th despite receiving full support from FSR Rontvia...

now for the big finish...I haven't done a full recap list as I've been doing this as I've been going along, so you'll have to scroll through the full thread to see if any of your entries appeared :P

4. BJSCIX (3rd in final): Nonsuch - Cyndi Lauper - Into The Nightlife

3. BJSCX (8th in final): Kopecka - Camille - Money Note

2. BJSCXI (16th in semi-final): Kathaldazia - Jamali - Secrets

1. BJSCIX (1st in final): Kingdom Of Shadow - Margaret Berger - Will You Remember Me Tomorrow?

washed up old hasbeen is what I thought about Cyndi Lauper before hearing the brilliant Into The Nightlife, thanks for that Nonsuch, brilliant track which would have definitely slipped under my radar without this contest! Kopecka's infamous Money Note by Camille is a song that I got completely, it received 12 points from me and I also got her album, which is very good too! Somehow Kathaldazia's second entry, Jamali's Secrets, missed the final, despite being one of the best girlband songs entered in BJSC's history in my opinion, a great pop melody, fantastic song and deserving of second in my countdown...

and in first, it really could only be Will You Remember Me Tomorrow?, another accolade for Kingdom Of Shadow then...thank you Tom, much appreciated :D

Lady Gaga - Paparazzi, Linda Kiraly, Margaret, Shontelle & Suzie Mcneil are my Top 5 songs ever entered into BJSC (NOT including my own - In NO alphabetical order ) Great list Rich :cheer:

Ooof @ #9 and #3  Fantastic list IMO :o I agree that it was nothing short of criminal that Jamali didn't qualify...

And I think you already know my opinion on the blessed Margaret :kink:

didn't Kopecka do well! Jamali got my 12 in the semi, I felt angry giving Lenka the 12 in the final, not because I don't love The Show, but because I'd reserved the 12 for Jamali...:( it had better make the next 'rejects' contest and win :arrr:

:o :o I still need to listen to that song. (Yes I still haven't :( )

LOL I think that could be the reason why it did not qualify.. People were probably so disappointed with my first entry they didnt bother listening to the second. WOW I'm really glad they're so high on your list Rich :) I've got a whole line of future South African artists that I still want to enter for the upcoming contests (half of which I can't find anywhere on youtube ) Please listen to Louise for this next contest don't ignore it I promise it's good ! :o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYoR7-AbVB8...feature=related

Yeah, I can't say I'm naturally a fan of unknown artists and most of my entries are album tracks of artists I'm liking recently. This means people who have the albums have heard them already. Beverley is only an exception because, although most people know the name, no one really buys her music. Plus it was a live version which, I think, is superior to the studio version. :o She just has so much energy on the live version.

Of your top 10 I particularly like the #1, #6, #7, #8 and #10.

i wonder if Colour Me Pjanoo would have done any better

i'm still please with 15th, especially against IKAG and the likes

It wasn't my fault for Secrets not qualifying. Wrong semifinal :kink:

well it didn't even exist at the time of BJSCVII, it might sound a bit cheap now because everyone knows Pjanoo so well!

I really don't get why Agnes is supposedly a Rontvian entry. :( I knew you've sent Swedish artists but you've never sent a song like On & On? Of your top three, only Camille is good. :P

I'm surprised you don't like Margaret Berger :o

I suppose people see Swedish-pop and think Rontvia, even though you're right, I've never sent a Swedish dance-pop entry before. Sanna was MOR rock/pop, Sibel was ballad-pop, Thermostatic was electro-dance and Andreas Johnson was indie-rock...I suppose dance-pop seemed like the next step forward for Rontvia

Big thanks to Rich AGAIN for your support of Dame Margaret, I rather run out of things to say about her now

The chart pretty much confirms what I thought overall though - The Great Kingdom and FSR Rontvia don't share a particularly similar taste in music (Camille and Jamalia? Really? No really?) but my respect for the biggest of all the BuzzJack nations continues
