Hollyoaks really is rather $h!te at the moment. After an excellent couple of months it's now just become tedious. I'm not interested in the whole Josh/Amy thing.

 

Justin/Hannah really is just poo. On a good note though I really like Dom's new girlfriend who's name escapes me at the moment...the stripper. She is good ^_^

Bryan Kirkwood has left, but I think it's still his stuff that's being aired at the moment. I remember reading an interview where he mentioned the Justin/Hannah angst-fest was to be his last big storyline.

 

The new producer, Lucy Allen, has apparantly decided to axe 10 characters according to Digital Spy. I'm not sure why specifically 10, as from the sounds of it they haven't yet actually decided which characters they are to be (although we know it will not be Warren or Justin (leaving anyway) or Hannah (just extended her contract).

 

I know which characters I'd LIKE to be chopped, but I doubt very much I'll get my wish.

Part of the reason Hollyoaks has lost a bit of it's sparkle in recent weeks is down to an over-reliance on dull no-marks (Sasha), overly drawn-out non-stories (will Josh Ashworth go to uni?), and the just plain silly (auras? Archie's trials of love? p*** OFF)

And most crucially of all, Teresa McQueen. Words cannot put to justice how stomach-churningly DIABOLICAL she is. Over-acted, unlikable, and the McQueen stereotype taken too far. Unfortunately judging by the amount of airtime her nauseating little act is getting, she has been ear-marked to be the next darling of the show. SUICIDE.

 

 

Anyway an axing prediction thread is always fun. Who do we think will be up for the 2009 axe? I've a feeling we'll be saying bye to a lot of the students this year; Zoe, Elliott, Gilly and Malachy would be my first bets. Possibly the Ashworth parents aswell.

Well she headed to Albert Square (and sucked) but now shes heading back to Hollyoaks...

 

Former Hollyoaks actress Gemma Bissix is to make a surprise return to the show as superbitch Clare Devine.

 

The 25-year-old left the show in September 2007 when her character drove off a cliff in dramatic stunt which subsequently won 'Spectacular Scene Of The Year' at last year's British Soap Awards.

 

At the same ceremony, Bissix also walked away with the award for 'Best Exit'.

 

Clare's return to Hollyoaks village is to tie in with the departures of old flame Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) and the man who pushed her off The Loft balcony, Justin Burton (Chris Fountain).

 

As part of their exit, Clare is hell-bent on revenge and Warren and Justin quickly become embroiled in a blazing fire at The Loft.

 

Bissix returns to filming at Hollyoaks' Liverpool home Lime Pictures next week and will reappear on screens at the end of May.

 

Only days after bowing out of the Channel 4 soap on screen in September 2007, it was announced that she was to reprise her role as Clare Bates in EastEnders. Her stay was short-lived, however, and she announced her decision to move on in May the following year.

 

More recently, she appeared in ITV skating show Dancing on Ice, where she was the first female contestant to be voted off.

I'm guessing she'll onyl be back for a couple of episodes though? :(

So pleased she's coming back though, even if it is for a short time, she was a great character!

I think that's what this campaign is all about though, she wants to have the gothboy's babies.

Another one bites the dust - Stuart Manning (aka Russ) has quit the show after 5 years.

Not surprising. Few people stick with Hollyoaks more than 3 years, and he's done a fair bit over that. His character has also been repeatedly watered down and pushed to the background in the past year aswell.

 

It is a shame though in that the way things are going, the entire established cast will be leaving soon and we'll be left with Theresa and Archie. It would be nice if Hollyoaks were able to establish a few more proper long-term characters like Tony and Steph.

There's a big eppy coming up on Wednesday I think involving Hannah, Justin and Hannah's boyfriend [can't remember his name :mellow:]. Should be gooood.

So I think this whole Anita, Racism thing is going to be Hollyoaks next MAJOR plot then? If only they had a better actress...

Looking forward to Claire coming back. Show is really in need of something exciting. At the minute its just a load of sub plots that I really don't care about. THERESA to die plsthx I would love that plotline.

I would ask you to add Anita into the "THERESA to die plsthx" comment you made Ryan, but the past few episodes with this racism storyline and getting bullied by that thug guy, I think she's actually improving... But yes like you said Theresa, Newt & Lauren to FOAD PLEEEEEEEEEEZE!

With Hannah's bike accident and the bullying problem for that other girl, I think Carmel has one of the most important plots ever! The Jesus Potatoes :lol:
