Carly Stenson has quit. Stephanie De La Dean will be departing at the end of the year.

 

 

This is not good news.

Oh no. :( My interest in Hollyoaks really is decreasing rapidly now.

eeek, not really someone they can afford to lose.

Really it's now pretty much down to the McQueens and Darren to carry the whole show.

Isn't she the longest serving female character or something? One of the only characters I tune in for anyway.

I think so; only Tony and Jack have been in longer I believe.

There is Cindy but she left for years.

Can't believe Carley is going :(

Yeah, Carley and Hollie Jay leaving are massive blows to the show, but I think the new cast members are gonna be really good :)

Alexandra Fletcher (Jacqui Dixon, Brookside) has joined as part of a new family :D I might have to start watching again, loved her in Brookie!

Michaela is being written out SUPERFAST!

 

Hollyoaks actress Hollie-Jay Bowes has been speedily written out of the Channel 4 soap following a string of rows with show bosses. The 21-year-old, who plays wannabe journalist Michaela McQueen, is due to film her last scenes on Monday after receiving her final script at the end of last week.

 

Earlier this month, Bowes broadcast her decision to quit her four-year role on Twitter following a heated exchange with new producer Paul Marquess. During the meeting, she allegedly questioned various aspects of her story with co-star Kent Riley (Zak Ramsey) and was subsequently told that she would be dropped from this year's series of Hollyoaks Later.

 

After the argument, Bowes is said to have stormed out of the office and tweeted: "This past 4 years have been incredible but I think its time to find myself again! I'm officially leaving hollyoaks in the next 6 months!x (sic)". Programme bosses, however, were so enraged by her behaviour that they asked storyliners to bring her time with the show to an abrupt and early end.

 

A Hollyoaks source told DS: "Hollie overstepped the mark - Paul didn't even know that she wanted to leave, so everybody was stunned when she announced her intentions on the internet."

 

I love hearing about backstage drama at the soaps.

It just sounds like they all hate this new boss?! Youd think the cast would just stand up against them? They can't axe the entire show! Gutted about steph.. hasn't been good since the days when it was her and her gang of school friends.. zara/bombhead/lisa/abby etc

What do we think about the Sharpe family who appeared last week? I'm liking them. The kids seemed to ease into it throughout the week and Gabby is very enigmatic (and her accent provides much amusement), plus anything which gives Tony plenty of exposure is good. I think they have promise.

I loved them, and I love the direction Hollyoaks seems to be going in, definitely the end of an era.

New credits next monday

I'm rather excited for the new credits! It's another green screen job but hopefully it'll look a lot glossier than the current ones.

 

This week has been really enjoyable I think. Rose is pretty convincing as a racist and I like how Des has gradually been pulled back into her nasty bigoted world. The scene where she told him she didn't even recognise him anyway was bizarrely touching given that she was mad that he hasn't been picking fights with the ethnic minorities.

 

Had to laugh at Jacqui RACING to the woods to dig up the gun as if they were going to start work there that very day but slipping it into Gaz's bag was a nice touch.

Good ending for a eposide.. makes you pining for the next eposide.. who agrees (e4) Great first eposide.
