So every show that ever features a fire again is now copying Eastenders now?

 

To be fair to Hollyoaks, they're actually playing this out in a TOTALLY different way. Like Lee said, they're stretching this out into a big week-long event. Each day they focus on a different set of characters, leading up to the main event on Thursday, and the culmination on Friday. And unlike Eastenders, I think this one is going to change the show quite drastically - it's almost certain that there are going to be deaths, unlike EE, and there's a whole who-lit-it mystery going on. It won't be brushed under the carpet like the EE one was; did ANYONE actually get arrested for that one?

Amazing exit for Steph tonight on the E4 eppy. Sad that she's gone, but great none the less. Hope Amy didn't die though.

 

Really enjoying this week's episodes, after seeing tonight's E4 wow, great acting.

Quite a tearjerker (won't say anything in case you didn't see it).

How utterly utterly bizarre. Everything seemed very disjointed - did we actually see the lead-up to Amber taking the pregnancy test? That seemed to come out of nowhere. And the time sequence seemed all over the place. Lots of odd bits aswell - Mandy didn't seem to even acknowledge that Steph had died in the fire, there was no confirmation of whether Amy survived, and it's a little odd that the fire seems to have been done and dusted on the Tuesday - I thought this was supposed to be a week-long event?

 

Kudos to Hollyoaks for keeping everything so under wraps. All the spoilers and videos they'd leaked beforehand turned out to be totally false! If the spoilers on DS were to be believed, both Steph and the fire were still to be alive and well up until Friday! Tonight was supposed to be focusing on the Amy/Ste/Brendan strand, which obviously didn't happen...

 

But BIG :( at Steph going. Truly a fantastic character, and what a way to go. And that scene at the end with Darren/Frankie/Gilly - horrible, no words were necessary :(

I haven't watched this in ages! Steph died? Major OMG. I love her, she was always my favourite character and one of the only reasons I used to watch. I must see this episode.

Potentially unpopular opinion; I thought Malachy's death was done much better than Steph's. More emotional, and had a whole episode dedicated to it, rather than being bunged in halfway through and dealt with in 10 seconds.

All five of the main cast (Malachy, Mercedes, Kris, Cheryl and Lynsey) were pretty solid tonight.

Some sort of internal organ failure, I don't think they really specified. He was in a coma and Mercedes had to decide to switch the life support off. Very sad.

Just went on DS, the big Xmas storyline has been revealed...

 

Tex starts to try internet dating, and India is not happy, do tries to stop her. But when Tex's date is a sucsess, she decides to set up a date of her own. Nancy and Tex do not ensure India's safety, and by the time they realise she is missing, she has been murdered by her date and is buried in some woods wrapped in a carpet...

 

Sounds very dark, and will be good because it's an important issue not often highlighted by media!

See that storyline though, it happens alot yet no soap has ever touched it.. Brilliant idea if you ask me, The fact that the thing has connections in the village makes it more evil. Going to be sinistar.

 

Did you see how warren escaped the fire? Brilliant Eposide. Hollyoaks is on the up if you ask me :) I'm going to enjoy to love the costellos at xmas with the love triangle and jasemine.

Gilly is doing my f***ing head in, yes I get that he's grieving, but other people seem to be handling it much better ... he's just being an absolute prick to everyone. That said, Frankie was an absolute bitch to him too.

I loved Frankie being a dick to him, he needs to learn.

 

Hollyoaks has been awful with editing recently. Because of the return of Warren

 

Example Last Week's editing was awful. Mondays Eposide - Warren returns then it's forgetting about the second half of the eposide.. but things have improved..
