Just spilled tea on myself from the shock of hearing from the #Hollyoaks script editors that an old character is to return. Who could it be?about 2 hours ago from Seesmic

A while back there was a story claiming there was a few old characters coming back including

someone from the early days.

I haven't watched it for about 2 months now and I'm really not missing it!

I used to love it so much and watch ever episode...now I couldn't care less tbh!

OH DEAR.

Rumours say that it is GEMMA ATKINSON returning to Hollyoaks.

Again, OH DEAR.

Pointless return, who/what is there for her now?

:( all my favorite characters went ages ago. Chris was the final nail in the coffin.

Couldnt agree with u more. I used to Sky plus it an never miss a single episode. Now im lucky if i watch one a month..

I haven't seen it for the past 2 weeks now. Although when i do catch it i still find it great. I just don't watch as much TV as I used to tbh.
Im really getting into Hollyoaks to be fair - probably because its focusing on Ste a bit with the Lucas storyline. And the fact that he is a bit om nom nom. (Ste, not Lucas, that would be wrong)

Anybody watching Late Night this week? Not a bad start.

Creepy Lydia is indeed VERY creepy. She looked undead when she turned up at the camp.

And LOLZ to the Cindy/Jacqui wrestlemania and LOLZ at Steph. "I don't know her surname, we'll just call her lesbian."

Oops forgot all about it. not really that bothered though, the show is the pits these days

Late Night has made me fall in love with the show again. The daytime show needs to be the same but a bit censored obviously.

I'm intrigued by the Ashworth story, the lesbian love triangle story is a bit predictable as I know what happens but  and  at the comedy Steph back. And the McQueen story is OK.

But todays normal ep was so boring. Can't wait for tonight though.

I'm now in love with Hollyoaks Later. It's the HEIGHT of tack and awfulness, it's brilliant! The Dom/Random Food Girl scene was the most LAUGHABLE sex scene I've seen in years! And LOLZ at the McQueens invading the photo shoot with the donkey.

The only blip remains the AWFUL Fernando, who is $h!t in a NOT-GOOD way.

Nice to see mentions of Boro on the normal show B) ha

Anyone watch Hollyoaks Later?

Wow the scenes tnight were quite incredible. Amazingly shot, I felt quite sick knowing how it would end for one of them.

All 5 Hollyoaks Later episodes were amazing.

I hope Zoe doesn't go down for the murder. Stupid Lydia (although she played her character brilliantly).

I loved the bit at the very end when Cindy went "Sucker". ahah

Right, so some thoughts on Later Week...

- The Ashworth strand was pretty irritating, particularly the Hannah/Jamie bit. Much as Emma Rigby is a good actress, it was just frustrating watching her decide a drug dealer was the love of her life after 24 hours. Just too ridiculous for words. The fat Perez Hilton lookalike and his mate were also nowhere near as threatening as they should have been.

- Andrew Moss was particularly good in the last couple of days. I think he gets a bit of a bum deal from Hollyoaks to be honest. Rhys is such a no-mark character - the writers can never decide if he's supposed to be a likable Jack the Lad, or an utter c**t. And so it just ends up being an annoying mess that no-one cares about, which is unfortunate for the actor who can be capable of good stuff.

- Theresa McQueen remains utterly $h!t. Quite why the writers have decided she is the next big thing is beyond me. Even the prison scene drew out no sympathy in me. I was with her mum - if Theresa had started singing nonsense like that at me, I'd have thrown something at her. GET RID.

- Michaela, Carmel and Jacqui McQueen however, all remain a delight. Carmel's utter uselessness at talking herself out of that sticky situation was needed to balance out the heavy drama going on elsewhere. And the Jacqui/Cindy bitchfight was hilarious, better than you get on WWE.

- Cindy Cunningham is pretty much the most entertaining thing on the show right now. And I ABHORED her when she first came back. I was actually kind of rooting for her and Tony when you were led to believe she had genuinely softened. But having said that, I did LOVE the "suckers" at the end. FABULOUSNESS. Clearly there is more to come there.

- Dom/Emma was just pure ridiculousness, but in quite a good way. The bar sex scene was just laughable, and I thought the Snow White themed wedding to the dwarf was INSPIRED. I am glad they cut off that plot in a way that means Emma won't be sticking around though - I think she did have the potential to become very irritating after a while.

- DIE FERNANDO DIE

- Despite her rubbishness in the main show, Lydia oddly made for a rather a convincing pyscho. And despite being an evil c**t, I even found myself feeling sorry for her when she was stood outside listening to Zoe driving imaginary stakes through her heart... Her suicide attempt was almost as shocking a moment as the main event...

- Sarah's death was done very well indeed. Whatever you thought of the character, those last five seconds were HARROWING. The realisation, and those desperate screams cut off by that thud...HORRIBLE, and it certainly stuck in the mind afterwards. I also loved the use of Mazzy Star for the beginning of the follow-up eppy.

- I do not want Zoe to go down :( The police inquiry seems a bit rushed and botched. Granted, Zoe wasn't really doing her best to defend herself (there's PLENTY she could have said on Lydia's recent behaviour). But it is odd how that detective seemed to unconditionally take Lydia's word as gospel. You'd think Lydia's apparant psycho past might have been looked into...

- I will miss the Sarah/Zoe friendship - the actresses seemed to have a genuinely good rapport going with each other.

In all, though not perfect, Later was MUCH better than the main show has been recently. The show needs to kick itself up the arse a bit - hopefully the aftermath of the sky diving will do that.

Can i just say, the main problem that the main show has recently is that its gone way too cheesy. Like the other day/week, that episode where Zoe's brother was going to be thrown overboard, they had ridiculous James Bond-esque music played over it.

The later episodes have been amazing. The Sarah dying episode was by far the best thing ive seen on TV in a few weeks. And so graphic! Didnt expect it to end like that..

Indeed. It does feel at times like they're no longer aiming for the 16-25 demographic, but the 10-16s.

Although it should be said that ANYTHING involving Archie is doomed to be $h!t. He really is the most abysmal actor on the show at the moment, portraying a not very likable character. It's a match made in hell, and no good will come of it. BIN IT.
