As you can see, I think SF2 is much closer. The only songs I can't see qualifying are the ones at the bottom of both semis.

From my Semi [2] the only songs I can see winning the whole competition are Mdice and possibly Angelicland. But there's a few hidden gems in there. I love Rivandia's entry.

 

I see Mdice and Angelicland as the favourites of semi 2 at the moment as well...of the more 'indie-pop' tracks/countries, I'd have to opt for Kellyana's Kingdom to come out on top

 

edit: I meant Mdice and Botannika, Angelicland won't be far behind though

I respect you for that, as I said before :D Shattered Glass is growing on me now anyway, I've listened to Circus all the way through 3 times today :o

Bit gutted to see that Single Again is such an outsider when it's an immense synth pop song which includes CHRISTMAS BELLS! (!!zz!1). I thought I'd make an ace choice! :heehee:

That doesn't necessarily reflect my opinion of the song. I just think it might be hard for a Hip-Hop/Rap song to qualify in this contest. :(

I'm failing to see how it's more pop than hip-hop. It may be a pop track, musically, but once you've got Trina doing her thing over the record it's hip-hop, no? She's certainly more Lil' Kim/Eve than Beyoncé/Rihanna. If people automatically rule artists out like that, it's a bit ridiculous tbh. Everyone should give the songs at least one listen in full before eliminating songs. :/

Well the video has got 90 views on Youtube, so at least that seems to mean that people are at least watching it in full, and appreciating my effort in making it :cry:

I honestly don't think a christmas song will qualify, not because of her voice because that was quite good, but because i don't think people are in that mindset yet. If the semis were a week before xmas i wouild have rated it at about 1/999999 to qualify Just because more or less everyone would be in an excitable xmas mood.

Yeah I did kind of figure that. It's why I was subtly pushing during the Best Of Contest for this one be as close to Christmas as possible because I've had this entry planned since around September :( The best I could do was just leave it until the very last minute to confirm it.

 

To be honest I don't have very high expectations of it qualifying, but I just get anxious when I hear no feedback whatsoever about it, as if people are just skipping over it when they see the word Christmas -_-

 

Especially after I put so much effort into making the video :(

 

Oh well Herzebania's fortunes will change dramatically in 2009!!
