'Pokerface' sounds like a copy of 'Just Dance' but not as good. I have listened to her album and do think she's very good but nothing special. Hopefully they'll be some good comebacks next year as I'm not really propelled to orgasm by any of the list really.
December 5, 200816 yr Author There's SO much potential from this list. From the various tracks/demos I've heard things some very promising. 2009 looks like being the year of electro if this list is anything to judge by. 10/15 use electronica in their music...

I'm kinda surprised to see Lady GaGa on here as her success seems so obvious to me, I thought they went for more unknown sorts on this list. Out of the ones I know so far, I'd think Frankmusik is the most obvious to top this, but maybe he's a bit too similar to Mika who has topped it before. I'd like to see a Little Boots/Lady GaGa/VV Brown top 3, personally, but as if they'd put 3 solo females at the top. :lol:

December 5, 200816 yr She sounds like christina in Keeps getting Better. But as GaGa came out before the Keeps Getting Better Era. I would Say CHristina now sounds like GaGa.. Christina has been Jocking her style as well. (2008 VMA's anyone) Not a fan of KGB like it seems a lot of Christina fanbase, hence the poor-ish chart performance compared to Brit and Bey over last few weeks. I'll listen to GaGa but think if it's KGB styl then I won't go crazy for her.

Copying rubbish is never a good idea ! Christina got that wrong, she needs to stick with what she does best with her awesome vocal power range and agility........ stick to songs that need singing like the voice within, Hurt, fighter,Soar,Candyman, not electropop with vocals modified to probably disguise defects or deficiencies. i couldn't find any LadyGaGa songs where she used her voice unmodified...... Sounds like all the other wannabees floating in and out of the industry.

And how is Frankmusik AT ALL similar to Mika? o.o Not in the UK but the single has now gone top 5 in the US and her first two singles went to #1 in Canada and Australia. She's also doing alright in Europe. Sure, no one would have heard of her here without the internet but success here is almost a given. Compared to the likes of VV Brown and Little Boots she's already a big star. I think '3 Little Words' sounds quite similar something Mika coulda release. But, saying that, I think Frankmusik is much less annoying than Mika .
December 5, 200816 yr The list was what to be expected tbh. I've heard of about 9 of them, so i'll check all the others out in a bit. No way will Lady GaGa be #1 on this list though. It's voted for for British people, so i'd expect a British act to come out on top personally. Take your pick out of FrankMusik, Dan Black and Little Boots. I know there's loads of hype around Dan Black, but is there any wonder? He covered one of the greatest hip-hop songs ever made and then used a well-known sample, ofc loads of people are gonna be talking about it! FrankMusik too is always gonna get compared to Mika. They kind of make different music, but then again they both make camp, fun pop music at the same time... I did think Dinosaur Pile-Up might have been on the list, but I guess not.
December 5, 200816 yr Dan Black's cover of 'Hypnotize' is actually really good. Although not keen on the other 2 songs though! 'Yours' is played quite a bit on The Box, especially at night, and I didn't reckon much to it!
