December 13, 200816 yr Author They do indeed and for those of you disappointed that Geraldine's Medley wasn't on The Winners Song CD it is included on this single :D Really? :w00t: Soooo buying this! :cheer:
December 13, 200816 yr Geraldine is going to be on the Christmas TOTP too apparently. So although it won't make Xmas number 1 .... maybe, just maybe it could make the X-Factor's stay at the top shorter than usual. TIP are you sure about Robbie Williams on this single? I can't find any mention of it anywhere else! Norma
December 13, 200816 yr I've voted for number 2. I think it will sell really well, but not well enough to beat X Factor. The sales will probably depend on who wins X Factor. If it's someone the general public thinks is a worthy winner (ie Alexandra) then the people buying Geraldine will be people who like the song, and like Peter Kay/Geraldine. There will also be a few people who just hate the whole idea of X Factor or them hogging the Christmas number one slot who buy it, but there will be a lot more tactical buys of the song if it's someone who is generally less popular, such as Eoghan. In fact, if Eoghan wins, and it's obvious he doesn't deserve it, I can see there being a big battle. Not that Simon will care too much, because the publicity from the chart battle will increase the sales for his winning act too.
December 13, 200816 yr I don't get all the love for Geraldine McQueen though tbh, Peter Kay hasn't really invented a funny character.
December 13, 200816 yr hmm...I might have to buy this if I can get to HMV at some point during the week I know I have loads of money on Leona being xmas No.2 but I wouldn't be devestated if this was, it's funny and I quite fancy having Geraldine's medley
December 13, 200816 yr Did you see Geraldine's introduction to the video? 'I think Christmas is a great idea ... we should have it every year'. Norma Yes, that was funny. I need the DVD and CD.. especially if it includes Geraldine's medley! :w00t:
December 14, 200816 yr Author WOW! It looks like the two who voted top 75 tops may be right! Norma It has time yet. Even if it goes in low top 10, it's one Christmas song I can see climbing the week after, cos really it's an anti-Christmas song.
December 14, 200816 yr It won't even go Top 5/(lucky if it goes Top 10). Sadly! I am forced to agree with you! I did think at first 3 (with a tiny outside chance of 2) but I'd be amazed if it got top 10 now! Still ... I think I'll treat myself to the DVD! Norma
December 15, 200816 yr Why is everybody doubting it will even reach Top 10 now....? Am I missing something? Edited December 15, 200816 yr by Peter30
December 15, 200816 yr Author Why is everybody doubting it will even reach Top 10 now....? Am I missing something? It debuted low on iTunes (no. 38 now), and there hasn't been much promotion. But Pop Factor was repeated last night, and part 2 is on Friday night. I definitely think it will be top 10, but maybe top 3 was overenthusiastic.
December 15, 200816 yr I actually think this will be lucky to make the top10, basically because it's got too much much competition fro all the other and better, "christmas regulars" and Alexandra.
December 15, 200816 yr Actually if this does not do as well as expected then at least it will be in keeping with most reality winners 2nd single  ...Michelle McManus, Leon Jackson, Steve Brookstein etc,
December 15, 200816 yr if you want something to beat x factor, then there has to be just one song for people to buy. There are too many campaigns for different songs and its split the sales. Although I suspect even a campaign for just one song wouldn't have a hope.
December 15, 200816 yr :puke2: I'm sorry all I know it's for charity BUT it's awful! I will admit it's better than The Winners Song, but I really HATE The whole Geraldine thing! The show was hilarious..I think they should have just released The winners song as a charity single rather than cashin in on it and then doing a single for Charity! Anyone else sense an Album coming.. :(
December 15, 200816 yr Author No, I think he has the sense to call it a day after this. Saw the show again last night, and TBH I preferred 2 Up 2 Down's version of The Winner's Song
