It did.

Such a choon.

Before this contest, Opium or Ella Elle L'a would never have come out of my speakers. Neither would half of my 12pointers. Mira Craig and Maira Haakaus Storeng would be unknown to me, and so would RBW no doubt.

I can't even imagine what me and my flatmate Amy would be like if Ella Elle L'a came on in Fatties. I think we'd die of excitement and shock

Does anyone like this song ?

I don't wanna go out in the semis again :| Five times in a row is enough.

BTW the era of desperation is cancelled :P

Good for the era of desperation being cancelled, but i think you can find better than that. Its pretty good but will flop just like Narcasista De Excelencia and Nobody did in SF1. I think thats the first time i've heard an Italian song except for Andrea Boccelli or whatever he's called ( btw)

 now that is different

I think I've just found a really amazing singer .

I'm just afraid she might not do well because of this new Electropop era -_-

Pfft, it's been the era of electropop since IV, just none of you have realised it :smoke:

I think if I tried sending something Electopop it would just end up being something weird. Not my strong point,

Oh dear......I might just have to wait until a new Era arrives to do well in the contest. :P

The era of Death Metal :magic:

I somehow don't see that one happening in, hmmm, my lifetime ;o

:smoke: Dragonette, True Believer, BJSCIV 9th.

I Get Around didn't do too well in BJSCII, i think it was 14th.

Electropop has come through since BJSCI and has only become a driving force since BJSCVII

Best song enterred into this contest - EVER

Yeh I don't get why all of the sudden BuzzJack has gone electro (well more like i don't know why it never was electro

Hopefully LIGHTS won't be seen as jumping on a bandwagon as I think she's pretty innovative

I think it's because it's shaping up to be the big thing in 2009. (and has been late 2008) Maybe when it goes totally mainstream and people get bored of it the contest will change towards the next big sound. You could say the female-singsongwriter genre was more popular earlier on because the likes of Duffy/Adele/Winehouse were the big thing late last year/early 2008.

hmm good point

so what's going to be the next big thing? We need mystic Meg!

FSR Rontvia has selected it's three national finalists for BJSCXIII, hand picked by a well respected jury including Mira Craig, Fiona from Untouched and the lady from Thermostatic. The Rontvian TV Network has made the videos public and is interested in feedback from The Buzzjack World:

* Annie - Me Plus One

* Dan Black -HYPNTZ

* ATB feat Heather Nova - Feel You Like A River

I do quite love HYPNTZ...have you noticed how it samples Ara Batur at the beginning? :kink: The pseudo-rapping does get quite embarrassing at points though (I can't help but cringe everytime I hear the '$h!t don't stink lyric' :/) but it's still a very cleverly done track, that would probably work a lot better if...well, it had someone who actually sounded natural while rapping doing it.

Annie sounds very Rontvia actually...have you considered raiding every Melodifestivalen artist that has been or ever will be?

I can't see the ATB track doing much really, it just screams 'Driving' to me.

I actually imagine you might quite like Cloetta Paris...have you heard any of her stuff? :o She might Thermostatic on you though, but it's still very worth checking out.

hmm...you might be right about ATB...it could well do a Driving...I was considering a similar singer/songwriter/trance crossover track by Schiller and Colbie Caillat but the latter is a no-no in this contest :heehee:

Annie's Me Plus One is very FSR Rontvia...I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing as I was looking to send something a bit different...but it is one of my favourite unreleased tracks of the decade  I haven't gone through every MF artist yet, but expect a fair few post-March 2009 :kink:

Dan Black's I sort of agree on, but it has so much charm in the chorus that you can forgive him for certain parts like the bit you picked out

merci pour les opinions :P
