GA-35 :D YAY for Alexandra, bit obvs though. And Beyonce- Listen! Deserved that when it was released! Can't wait to see the albums! ^_^

wow for Beyonce!

Amazing that listen is top 5! don't think it will stay there for the rest of the week though!

How is GA TLK number 35 already when it's only just reached that number on ITunes?

Don't think it will be top 40 by the end of week because of Xmas songs

Great for GA

Three times Hallelujah in the singles charts

10:44 | Tuesday December 16, 2008

By Ben Cardew

Alexandra Burke looks certain to top the charts with Hallelujah (Syco) this Sunday, although Leonard Cohen may prove the real victor, with three versions of his song set to appear in the Top 40.

Burke, who won the X Factor last Sunday, has sold 149,546 copies of her cover of Cohen’s Hallelujah so far this week.

That is far ahead of her nearest rivals – Leona Lewis’s cover of Snow Patrol’s Run (Syco) and Jeff Buckley’s own version of Hallelujah (Columbia), which Buckley’s fans have been trying to move up the charts since it was announced that the winner of the X Factor would cover the song. Cohen’s own Hallelujah should enter the Top 40.

Completing an unusual top five on the midweek charts are two Beyoncé tracks – If I Were A Boy and Listen (both Columbia) - while Geraldine (aka Peter Kay) with Once Up on A Christmas Song (Polydor) is at 10.

There are few surprises on the artist albums chart, however: Take That’s The Circus (Polydor) continues to sell very well, shifting another 85,821 units yesterday to take its cumulative total to more than 837,000.

It looks certain to top the charts this Sunday, ahead of Leona Lewis’s Spirit (Syco), The Killers’ Day And Age (Vertigo) and Kings Of Leon’s Only By the Night (Hand Me Down).

Fall Out Boy’s Folie A Deux (Mercury) is set to be the highest new entry and should secure a Top 40 placing.

Yeah, it's a monopoly :arrr:

Although good recordings, it's sad the top2 singles are cover versions.
