December 16, 200817 yr FAR more than that. It's the first time that any version of the song, or any song sung by either Jeff Buckley or Leonard Cohen has ever gone top 75! (Well, I know Jeff's version's been hanging around on downloads since earlier this year, but you know what I mean) Does anyone know if this is the first time any track written by Leonard Cohen has ever charted in the UK? The only other Leonard Cohen Song that I can find - as far as being a UK Hit Single - is 'First We Take Manhatten' - No.74 for Jennifer Warnes, in 1987. 'Hallelujah' isn't his most Covered Song. That 1984 Song is beaten by 'Suzanne', which he wrote in 1966. Of course, that's been around for 18 Years longer than 'Hallelujah' - but both are great Songs.
December 16, 200817 yr Author The Westlife song I was referring to was 'I'm Already There' because I can see it's doing well on iTunes! So I thought it would be Top 40, so there IS in fact a reason for it to be Top 40, if it was Top 40! And then you go and ask the question is it top 40? If the Westlife track is not on iTunes, it won't even show in the official top 100. Not every track on iTunes appears in the official chart.
