after only two singles which failed to reach Top 5 (pretty useless for a manufactured pop group surely..)

I'm not defending them, I don't think they should have a forum either, but 'Up' got to #5 actually.

As for Metallica, Slipknot or AC/DC forums, that just wont happen. I understand that they've sold millions etc. but they really aren't the sort of acts the majority of Buzzjack will have in their CD collection. (including me) The fact that they only need 40 votes and can't get there with multi-choice polls shows that it's best to stick to successful threads in the Punk/Metal forum. I'm not saying The Saturdays etc. are more deserving of forums but a Metallica forum on Buzzjack would be almost out of place. I'm surprised the likes of Oasis, the Libertines and even the Beatles have managed to get forums on here.

Basically we need a PSB forum  End of....

Thing is, we don't though  There's nowhere near enough conversation about the PSBs to warrant a forum for them at all...

unfortunately the type of people who frequent buzzjack arnt fans of metallica, ac dc, slipknot etc...

We'd probably have far more intelligent discussions on music, current affairs, etc if more Metallers DID frequent BJ......

qhat sounds better?

Guh I hate both The Saturdays and Metallica. Neither should have forums. :/ I honestly think no new forums should be added for quite sometime; I can't think of anyone who possibly deserves one at this point.

Gnahhh.

That's a sweeping generalisation don't you think?

but true..... just look at the saturdays threads and see how many of the fans react.

LOL at this thread. Who'd have known one forum could have caused so much uproar :heehee:

I'm all for artists i don't like having AFs shoud they be succesful enough... for example, i detest Metallica, but i can see why a forum for them would be hugely pointfull and largely suggesful, same with major bands like AC/DC who i'm not keen on.

Imo, forums should be limited and only given to artists who are long term succesful (Kings Of Leon especially, with their new fourth album now opening up another huge market), or who are global successes and are guaranteed to stay around for a while (i.e. Leona Lewis).

Thank you one and all.

Put it this way, I mentioned Metallica's album sales in a Saturdays thread and got flamed and slagged off by Saturdays fans who couldn't handle the reality that a metal band is more popular than a so-called "popular" manufactured Pop Group. I mentioned The Saturdays in a thread about Metallica and didn't get slagged off or told I was "off topic".....

And, if I or Chris were to Mod a Metallica forum and Kate made a similar clever joke about the Mets as she did about The Saturdays, well, I sure wouldn't close the topic down, and I doubt Chris would either....

I rest my case.....

It was far from a clever joke.

It was an immature "spitting my dummy out" revolt.

And it's a good job Metallica aren't getting a forum then isn't it.

No, you just dont really "get" Kate's sense of humour mate, it was funny... :P Either that or you're just some pathetic, immature little Saturdays Fanboy who cant take a joke..... Either way, it worked, cos it just totally wound you up didn't it....? :P

I wont even bother replying to the last part because it just shows how immature you really are.... You see, us Metal fans CAN take a bit of a joke and constructive criticism based upon actual knowledge....

Slagged off?! We was having a debate about you comparing an established rock acts latest albums and global sales with the debut album of a manufactured pop band that have only released in the UK so far and the only reason you would have been told that you was off topic was because you were talking about it in a thread about Alphabeat!

I can't believe for a band you hate so much you are still so desperate to talk about them

How nice - Why do you feel the need to personally attack people on here for being a fan of The Saturdays?! If you hate the band so much and feel their fans are 'Pathetic and Immature' then stay out of discussions regarding the band! They have their own forum now so you can totally ignore it and never ever have to read anything about the band on here :magic:

Mets have sold more albums in the UK though mate.... :P DESPITE all the bumming and hype and 'specialized forums' created on chat-sites to try and promote the S(h)aturdays and their lame-ass "music"... THAT is the point I'm making, it's all hype and hot air, at least The Spice Girls, Girls Aloud and All Saints actually sold records and proved their worth, even if I dont really like the music all that much.... You can bum The Saturdays all you like, aint gonna alter that fact that they are total under-achievers, even on home territory, where the likes of Spicies and GA debut albums performed significantly better... They dont deserve a Forum, simple as, cos they aint proven their mettle (no pun intended.... )..

What irritated me was to close down Kate's jokey, amusing topic, which just shows the immaturity and petulance of Saturdays fans....

Er, excuse me... Why the fukk should I stay out of discussions on any topic...? How about you people actually GROW THE FUKK UP and realise that a criticism or a joke aimed at the BAND is not a fukkin' PERSONAL attack..... This is what winds me up about you lot tbh.... How is it that I can put up a post on the Coldplay forum or a Coldplay related thread making a sly dig at the band and no one chooses to take that personally...? And yet, here you lot are closing down topics which DARE to have a sly dig at your own little obsession....?

exactly, forums arent a bit of a love-in fest, if there isnt any debate then what is the point, it just ends up a load of people saying 'OMG ISSUES BY THE SATS IS SO AMAZING' and doing B+I's, makes a forum pointless... wait a minute it sounds like this forum.

I'm not 'bumming' The Saturdays - Looking at previous discussions I have had with you about the band then I fully agree that their sales for a band of their genre are not fantastic but they have had a good start to their career with 2 Top 10 singles so far and their 2nd single selling double (70,000 more) than their debut. Their album has indeed underperformed with 76,000 sales so far - I am realistic about their success as the figures speak for themselves but we will see what the TV advertising of the album and 3rd and 4th single releases bring :)

Having a sly dig at a band is totally different from calling an induvidual on here pathetic and immature IMO.

I agree on your other points but to be fair when you mentioned The Saturdays in the Death Magnetic thread it was obviously a negative comment about The Saturdays rather than when you post in topics related to The Saturdays its a positive comment about Metallica and how they're so much better than The Saturdays. Not sure how much sense that sentence makes but i hope you understand :P
