December 21, 200816 yr Author 18: Katy Perry - Hot 'N' Cold Chart Run: [36-29-31-36-X-25-18-14-14-10-8-10-18-26-34] - 14 Weeks* Next up is the singer, many thought would be a One Hit wonder. That is until she released this beauty. With arguably the best video of the year, Katy Perry scored another Top 10 hit, in my chart and this also converted into the UK chart where it peaked at number 4, and spent ages in the Top 10. This is a much better song than her major anthem 'I Kissed a Girl'
December 21, 200816 yr Author 17: OneRepublic - Stop & Stare Chart Run: [3-4-1-1-3-8-9-13-18-19-21-23-24-24-28-29] 16 Weeks At number 17, is a band that had one of 2007's biggest hit's thanks to their friend, Timbaland. OneRepublic released this as their follow-up single, and it became a big number 1 hit in my chart. It also helped their album become a big hit on my chart aswell as the UK Charts. They are a band that deserved so much more this year. 'Say (All I Need)' is still to come on my chart.
December 21, 200816 yr Author 16: Basshunter - I Miss You Chart Run: [15-14-17-21-27-28-32-39-X-13-7-5-2-5] 13 Weeks* Next up is without a shadow of a doubt, is the biggest dance act of this year. Basshunter. 'I Miss You' has always been my favourite off the album, and I was ecstatic when he released it as a single. I am actually gutted though that it has only gone Top 40 in the UK charts. But I guess that's what happens with most 4th singles released from the same album.
December 21, 200816 yr Author Quick Recap: 20: Same Difference - We R One 19: T.I feat Rihanna - Live Your Life 18: Katy Perry - Hot 'N' Cold 17: OneRepublic - Stop & Stare 16: Basshunter - I Miss You
December 21, 200816 yr Adore Hot N Cold, it's far superier to Kissed A Girl. I Miss You is actually the only Basshunter track i havent charted actually, even if it is better than the last one he did. Stop & Stare got very boring for me im afraid but Live Your Life still remains brilliant.
December 22, 200816 yr Apart from Michelle Williams, Frankmusik & that Cascada song (Sorry John :() i like them all and a fab top 20 so far :D
December 22, 200816 yr Author 15: The Script - Breakeven LdF3hXfoYKs Chart Run: [17-13-9-8-2-4-7-14-21-25-29] 11 Weeks* At number 15, is my favourite band of the year with their 3rd single, 'Breakeven'. Although it peaked at a rather disappointing number 24 in the UK charts, it has managed to last about 5 weeks in the Top 30. It peaked at number 2 in my chart and seems to have decent staying power. I really like this song and I hope they release 'Talk You Down' or 'Rusty Halo' as the 4th and final single from the AMAZING album.
December 22, 200816 yr Author 14: Britney Spears - Piece of Me Chart Run: [2-2-5-8-11-13-13-18-20-21-24-25-25-26-24-26-28] 17 Weeks Next up is the very first Britney song that was in my chart, as it was in my debut chart. It entered at number 2 and managed to stay there a 2nd consecutive week. The reason it didn't reach number 1 was because I started my chart after it was released and I was quite strict with what enters my chart back then! 'Piece of Me' is in my Top 5 Britney singles of all time!
December 22, 200816 yr Author 13: Ne-Yo - Closer Chart Run: [7-7-2-3-2-3-4-4-7-10-11-13-17-21-23-26-32-34-40] 19 Weeks In at 13, is the first of a few artists this year, to try out a new direction with their sound for their latest albums. And here is probably the biggest and best example of how to pull it off. This is a fantastic R&B/dance song. It became a big hit in the UK charts and my charts, and was also a massive club hit. His album, however, isn't quite the same as this sound, it's more R&B ballady than R&B/dance. But I still love the album.
December 22, 200816 yr Author 12: Chris Brown & Keri Hilson - Superhuman Chart Run: [4-8-14-20-31-38-X-7-6-5-7-6-8-12-21-30] - 15 Weeks* Next up is a song in which I said was a better song than a song (That's still to come on my chart). So why is it below it in this chart? Well, I have found a new love for the said song, I was comparing this too, as this one isn't really as good as I had originally made it out to be. I do love this song, hence it entering at number 12 in my 'Best of 2008' chart, but I don't quite like it as much as I used to ;)
December 22, 200816 yr Author 11: Kings of Leon - Sex on Fire Chart Run: [18-13-16-19-23-28-32-35-31-33-35-36] 12 Weeks* Just missing out on the Top 10, and becoming one of only 2 acts to have 2 singles in my 'Best of 2008' Top 20, is a band who have also taken me by surprise, the most this year, Kings of Leon. 'Sex on Fire' will probably become the soundtrack to 2008, for many, and I can clearly see why. It's one of the most anthemic singles of recent times, and they deserved the success they got with this single & Album.
December 22, 200816 yr Author Quick Recap: (20-11) 20: Same Difference - We R One 19: T.I feat Rihanna - Live Your Life 18: Katy Perry - Hot 'N' Cold 17: OneRepublic - Stop & Stare 16: Basshunter - I Miss You 15: The Script - Breakeven 14: Britney Spears - Piece of Me 13: Ne-Yo - Closer 12: Chris Brown feat. Keri Hilson - Superhuman 11: Kings of Leon - Sex on Fire
December 22, 200816 yr Just LOL at the fact that Superhuman is 60 odd places higher in your end of year than mine, you should have entered it instead of me to BJSC. Only started liking Sex On Fire this week
December 23, 200816 yr From the last 10: 19: T.I feat Rihanna - Live Your Life 18: Katy Perry - Hot 'N' Cold 14: Britney Spears - Piece of Me 11: Kings of Leon - Sex on Fire Merry christmas John!
December 23, 200816 yr Author 10: Jordin Sparks & Chris Brown - No Air Chart Run: [1-1-1-1-1-3-4-3-4-6-8-13-16-18-19-21-25-29-33-39] - 20 Weeks So just making it into the Top 10 at number 10, is the amazing single by Jordin Sparks. She had a little bit of help from Chris Brown, but I honestly feel if this track was done with Jordin & Someone else it still would have done well regardless. I have been raving on and on about this song, since I found out it was getting a release. But I did get bored of it, if i'm honest. but now, I'm starting to love it again! Edited December 23, 200816 yr by Chrimbo Jon
December 23, 200816 yr Author 09: Kings of Leon - Use Somebody Chart Run: [38-36-26-26-5-10] 6 Weeks* O...M...G! Is this song AMAZING or is this song AMAZING? Albeit it took time to grow on me, but it is truly incredible. Deserves to be the massive hit that it has gone onto become! This is even more of an Anthem than 'Sex on Fire' and would most probably end up becoming one of the songs, that I will remember being from 2008, in a couple of years time
December 23, 200816 yr the last three tracks are in my top 100 of 2008 so more great songs their john :w00t:
December 23, 200816 yr Author 08: The Killers - Human Chart Run: [3-3-4-5-3-3-3-4-7-11-14] 11 Weeks* At number 8 is the amazing new single from The Killers. It was a brilliant comeback single IMO. Although I am a little tired of it now, I still love it. I think it will go onto to become one of The Killers most memorable and favourite hits. I was disappointed in the video though. I thought, "fantastic song but WTF at the video?" This song would have been Top 5 had the end of the year been last month
