Do you have any memories you associate with The Libertines?

About a year and a half ago, maybe before i was going through a major libs phase so i associate loads of memories of The Libertines.

I remember once round my mates house we used a pernament marker and wrote Pete and Carl's 'Libertine' tatto's (easily seen on 'The Libertines' cover), we had it in the right style and position of each member, i was Carl :) it stayed there for a week, we were like so cool.

possibly more stories of my retardism later.

The two that come into my mind:

- Having a conversation with a friend in a tent just as I woke up after sleeping in the garden at a party with an old theatre group I was a member of and getting annoyed at her liking Baby Cakes by 3 Of A Kind as it kept The Libertines of #1 the week beforehand <_<

- Coming from Uni with an HMV bag in my hand and my mate asked what did I buy and I said I bought the Dirty Pretty Things album and he laughed and said that he knew that's what I must have bought!

The Good Old Days will always be my favourite Libs song, as it reminds me of when I first really got into the band, only a couple of years ago - I just couldn't stop playing it and made me appreciate the lyrics..."If you've lost your faith in love and music, the end won't be long". I love discovering bands that have been around for a while (happened with Placebo a couple of years ago too) and this lyric represents that for me I think

Also, 'Don't Look Back Into the Sun' reminds me of the first episode of Gavin & Stacey I watched, as it was featured in it. Now it's one of my favourite programmes  (even if there has only been two series!)

I remember once i listened to just Libertines straight from about 4.30pm-9.30pm, i was just blasting them out of my room playing along on guitar pretending i was a member of the band

i used to be such a douche.

I think we all know you still do that Chris

:kink:

Well in all seriousness I'm even more of a douche.

I sometimes still do that (not always to the Libertines) and I don't even have a guitar!

*slaps Harve*

I'm jealous of all of you who have friends with the same music taste. For me its either metal, chav or don't like music at all :(

that's because no one else likes Cascada apart from you Harve so it's impossible for you to have friends with similar music tastes.

Meh... Cascada are two years ago now. <_<

I've not had a #1 thats not vaguely alternative for nearly two months now.

At least you don't dance in your chair or shout or mime along to lyrics like a douche like I do
