Into the top 30, BWO start us off with a wonderful slice of Euro-cheese which was shortlisted as Sweden's Eurovision entry and is oh so 1999/2000 dance. Adele appears tiwcw in this segment, and I regret having Chasing Pavements at #1 when Hometown Glory simply pisses all over it. Kelly Rowland's dull Work was given a great overhaul by the Freemasons giving it an Arabic dance vibe and helped it gain 3 weeks at the runners up slot. Biffy Clyro, who I had never rated before stormed up my chart with Mountains which gave them their biggest hit to date on the Official Chart too.

Girls Aloud have had a pretty successful year on my chart with 2 #2 hits - Can't Speak French and The Promise, plus a #1 album Out Of Control - can they have a hit next year to compare with Call The Shots though? The Killers stromed back with 2 week #1 Human, their best new track for years. Also making a comeback was Will Young, who had a 3 week #1 in the Autumn - not a bad song, but not setting the musical wortld alight anymore. The Tings Tings followed up That's Not My Name with #2 Shut Up And Let me Go - a much catchier song and more owrthy of a UK #1 than That's Not My name was. In comparison with BWO, euro cheese is back again with Eurobandið, Iceland's brilliant ESC entry. I wish we had entries like that!

When I first heard Ready For The Floor on Radio 1 after the chart, I just had to have it - utterly superb slice of wierdness and genius. Next, are the Saturdays, with Up, a slice of rather good pure pop - even if most people here hate them, I think they are pretty good and Up proves they should have some longevity.

:o Shockingly low Coldplay song! Lost! is the least successful of the 3 Coldplay songs I have charted this year, but does rather well anyway. Question is though, is Lost! any better than Lost? or Lost+ ? The Last Shadow Puppets, with the bloke from Tha Arctic Monkeys and The Rascals, had a huge hit with the Bond/Spanish/60's flavoured The Age Of The Understatement. On reflection, this is definately one of the best songs of the year!

Calvin Harris produced In My Arms is the highlight of X and Kylie's best song since I Believe In You, so it is good to see it so high in my YE chart ^_^ Talking of album highlights, the stunning The Rip is the best track from comeback album Third from Bristol's finest Portishead and if my YE chart was done soley on how much I love the songs from my chart throughout the year, this would be easily Top 5.

2 brilliant tracks from 2 albums of the year - Kids is the highlight of MGMT's Oracular Spectacular, and Happiness is one of the highlights from Seventh Tree.

Sex On Fire! :o Such a brilliant tune, and well deserves to be KOL's biggest hit to date both on mine and the official chart. I wish I had charted Molly's Chambers years ago, but never mind. The Verve, 90s chart giants, returned with their tribute to Pingu, Love Is Noise. This track had the honour of knocking Coldplay off the top spot after 7 weeks.

The Rip HIDEOUSLY low there dear :(

Although I can't talk as I have it in the exact same position!

'You'll never see me again..'

This rather nifty dance tunes owes alot to the sample of Bronski Beat (almost the same sample that 2006's Tell Me Why from Supermode used) and the fact that I loved their only other hit (well, hit for me) Satellites so much. As much as I like it, I am quite surprised that it has ended up this high in my YE chart

'Meet me by the entrance of the tube'

One of the stars of the year, the lovely Duffy has 2 songs in my YE top 10 - although neither are as good as Rockferry, which I would have loved for her to re-release. Sigh. Still, this has a nice 60s soul vibe to it, so its not all bad!
