January 2, 200916 yr Red Letter Day dropped from No.9 to out of the Top 40. Don't know the exact position though 42. If someone asked me what's the highest fall out of the top 40 I'd say Gnarls Barkley- Crazy, from No.5, as seen in the list above. Not a fair/sales-accurate drop, but in chart rule history it is correct. Edited January 2, 200916 yr by jargon
January 3, 200916 yr what was the reason for Gnarls Barkley's disqualification with Crazy, I do no, I just can't remember lol!
January 3, 200916 yr Its worth pointing out some of the singles mentioned were deleted. I think Crazy was. Raving I'm Raving used a sample and was only cleared to be released if limited to a certain number of physical copies. Also a number of the singles are Christmas songs which usually suffer immediately following the end of Christmas. But its still an interesting list. Be interested to know the reason Maneater fell so fast...
January 3, 200916 yr Be interested to know the reason Maneater fell so fast... Same reason as Gnarls Barkley I think.
January 4, 200916 yr Same reason as Gnarls Barkley I think. Yes, the chart rules at the time saw singles excluded from two weeks after the physical single was deleted. Chasing Cars was also hurt by that rule, otherwise it would have another 7 weeks to add to its incredible chart run...
