Me too :)

Glad to see Amy McDonald quite high, but it must hurt to not be top 20...

Surprising to see Dido ahead of Snow Patrol. I had the impression they had a much better chart performance. Altough both remain huge flops...

Dido is not ahead of Snow Patrol?! They have sold a decent 420,000 albums while Dido is struggling to reach 200,000!

I doubt Will's not that bothered who's sold more than him Olympus, be it Rhydian or anyone else, I expect he's just happy to still be here 7 years on and getting his fourth platinum selling album.

I agree with you.

Although I think Will might still outsell him. ;) I think Christmas is the biggest time for selling classical/classic-pop music. Rhydian will struggle to reach 2x platinum.

Isn't it great how pop puppets who can get hit singles, but not albums, Britney and Beyoncé are also above Dido? :P

That Snow Patrol album she's above is their old one.

OMG Kylie is only at number 100!!!

That's only sales for 2008 - she released X in 2007 where the rest of her sales are.

Others like Leona and Duffy reissued with extras and their sales combined. Good marketing ploy. Other than Amy W - for some reason her sales aren't combined so you've got two entries for the same album which gives her a lower placement.

170,000 for Miley's album is absolutely amazing off the back of two small hit singles and without even really benefitting from Christmas sales...
are we going to have a new chart this week???

The YTD this week will be the official top 40 albums so yeah, it should be revealed between 4 and 6pm.

even though to start i thought snow patrol would sell so much more but its sales are quite good and it should eventually sell a million copies i think

Suppose Keane and Snow Patrol haven't been too big a flop, still not very good. Kaiser Chiefs, however.... :o

Shame because Never Miss A Beat is actually amazing

Your prediction has experienced a fairly inauspicious start ;)

I also think Leona Lewis is the first Solo Female to have the same Album in the Top 5 of

the Year on more than one occasion. 'Spirit' was 2nd in 2007, & it is 4th in 2008.

The only other Females to manage it were the Spice Girls. 'Spice' was 3rd for both

1996 & 1997. Even Madonna has never managed it.

The following info has been added to the first post.

2008 Totals:

839,524 Rihanna - Good Girl Gone Bad (558,322 in 2007)

419,806 ABBA - Gold Greatest Hits

Anyone got the Top 100 Singles?

Top 40 Singles has been posted do far, they are in the chart forum somewhere.

I was surprised Alphabeat didnt make the top 100. Does anyone know how many it sold?

2008 Sales

The Script - The Script 544.028

Adele - 19 479.328

Madonna - Hard Candy 323.113

Guns N' Roses - Chinese Democracy 293.420

Dido - Safe Trip Home 192.355

Leon Jackson - Right Now 122.030

Same Difference - Pop 105.927

Rhydian - Rhydian 350.785
