Though Tennessee's Kings of Leon are a rock band from the south, that doesn't mean they're a Southern Rock band. The Followill brothers Caleb, Jared, and Nathan (along with their cousin Matthew) play a straight-ahead, hard-driving brand of rock & roll that owes more to Crazy Horse and the Rolling Stones than it does to Molly Hatchet. Their debut album, 2003's YOUTH & YOUNG MANHOOD showed them to be an earthier equivalent to garage-rock contemporaries like the White Stripes and the Strokes. - HMV

This tune recently hit #1 on the US radio airplay charts and it is Jason's first top 40 hit in the UK. Nice video of him talking about his Avacado farm and nice plug about Alvin Stardust making an appearence on Loose Women.

I loved this song but it has been overplayed so much, it's all about Use somebody now and even thats feels like it's been around for ever

#8, impressive new peak for MGMT. :D Why are The Ting Tings back in the top 10?

The album was on offer for £3.95 on iTunes all this week, so its been #1 on iTunes Album Chart almost all week :)

Though a batch of 1980s-New Wave-inspired bands started making noise in the early 2000s, it wasn't until the Killers' 2004 debut album HOT FUSS (and its crossover hits "Somebody Told Me" and "Mr. Brightside") that the style really broke through to the mainstream. Heavily indebted to the likes of the Smiths, Psychedelic Furs, et al, the Las Vegas, NV quartet brought a contemporary sense of urgency to their retro-loving dance-rock sound and taught a new generation of kids that it doesn't have to be disco to be dance music. For follow-up SAM'S TOWN, the group obviously feasted on a gorge of Bruce Springsteen style rock, and while the sound boasted a slightly harder edge, the group retained the critics' and fans' adoration. - HMV
