January 16, 200917 yr Author Sorry this could be pretty obvious but just wondering, do we know for definite if sales from Vinyl have been counted towards the Midweeks? Yes all sales will be counted.
January 16, 200917 yr Glad MGMT will be top 20 this week again I think 5 or 10 units will define the 10 and 11 positions
January 16, 200917 yr I think GA are totally safe for the top 10 if the gap is still nearly 500 copies. Wasn't the gap the same size earlier in the week? That means both are selling consistently so it's unlikely that one will overtake the other.
January 16, 200917 yr How about we change the topic to "Where will Alesha chart?" Shes entered the top 20 on itunes (#19) but is only no.30 in midweeks. I think she will chart at number #27. But at the start of the week i said she would chart at #30. Really pleased with how this is doing so far. I think you're about right, maybe #28  Hopefully it can help the album though, its kinda died, and if supermarkets don't stock a CD at the moment you better hope there's an HMV near anyone who wants her album  The 10-11 gap is close enough to change but more likely it won't. The 10-4 gap isn't big though so top 10 could reshuffle a bit by weekend. Thanks for that info Martin :)

It could also reach a new peak (Lets be honest, its not too hard to get higher than #26). And remember, sales are always really high around the end of the year so when TAS was released, it probably sold really well. I think the album could peak Top 20. I don't really mind where GA will peak but they deserve to get a higher peak than Issues. I also want Pink to go Top 10 with Sober but by the looks of things, its very unlikely :(

If you've liked either of the singles or anything ever by Xenomania i'd recommend it. At that price its worth it just for curiosity. Should hopefully give it a bit of a boost :) GA and Pink had such successful albums the other side of Xmas that it is dampening down their single sales i think. For GA, only having a CD1 these days and the reduced availability is eroding the power of their heavy loyal physical fanbase, but its happening to all the acts who've been around from the early noughties or before sadly (Kylie, Madonna, Oasis etc.). So many songs with long runs, decent sales but poor peaks now. Can't Speak French is GAs joint lowest (excluding St Trinians before i'm corrected) so far yet is the 6th best selling out of 20 i think, for example.
January 18, 200917 yr ^^ CSF also made the album shoot up the charts aswell. But it is quite crazy when a cover of ITWAN gets to no 4 and then TLK battles it out for no10. I always say that GA will miss top ten eventually but then look at rihanna, she's the one that ruins the theory.

Question is, when they miss top 10, is it the beginning of the end?

Question is, when they miss top 10, is it the beginning of the end? no, that's the sort of thing The Sun would say  Huge Out Of Control tour April-June, and they've signed a new deal so yeah they're here for a while yet. Plus Rihanna hasn't run away has she, she just won't let Good Girl Gone Bad leave
January 18, 200917 yr Sorry, I was just playing devil's advocate really :) Hopefully we'll have a third single around the time of the tour, which should be a big hit again hopefully for that reason. I would love it to be Love Is Pain but I think that's quite unlikely, though they did perform it on The Girls Aloud Party...

I was going to a few days ago but i wasn't sure if the quality would be good. CSF, i think, didn't get a high peak because people were buying it weeks before the physical release. So less people would buy it on the week it would make the biggest impact. And Call the Shots was still selling well around the time of CSF's release so it could of been overshadowing the single.

I wasnt really saying rihanna didnt miss top ten, she missed it with that hate that i love you song aswell. My point was that she released singles way after the album release that still made top ten so theres no reason why GA cant aswell. But GA will never be unsuccessful while ever xenomania write their songs and cheryl is an x-factor judge. In my opinion anyway.
January 18, 200917 yr It's interesting that you bring up the X Factor. Thing is, I think in terms of the media's eyes, the group has now become Cheryl Cole And Girls Aloud, like Diana Ross and The Surpemes. So much of the attention is focused from her and her alone, I think it's taking press and interest away from the group.

I love cheryl to bits but the fact is, it will never be cheryl and co whilever she has the same voicebox ;)
