All this Girls Aloud stuff is so annoying to read. I personally think, not as a big GA fan, that you should either want them to get to #10, or you should want Kanye to get #10 because you like him, not because you dislike,

And, come on, just one more day, I'm positive Lady Gaga can keep #1. And, very nice to The Script at #1 in the albums. Rusty Halo :wub:

My point is that people are obsessed with Getting Girls Aloud to top 10 to make it their 20th top 10 hit, surely it wouldn't be the end of the world if they came in at #11? they have had huge chart success and #11 isn't exactly a flop.

 

People are soo quick to jump in on here and it really gets my goat, I am a nice person honest my last posts have been very direct etc.. but I'm honestly sick of all this Girls Aloud talk and tbh I was only winding The Obsessors up about Kayne etc & look it worked!

But one thing i will never understand is that GA are pretty obviously a big band but people always talk about "over obsessive" fans. I don't get that. Because i read pages and pages of stuff about alsorts of artists here who i dont care about but i don't complain how much they talk about them :huh: GA get talked about a lot because there are a lot of their fans here.

in the history of the English Language, fan=contraction of "fanatic". Therefore "over obsessive" fan is a redundant phrase. Fans by nature will be "over obsessive" about the thing they are fanatical about. I'd say without counting anything its clear GA have the biggest, most loyal (or at least most vocal) fanbase on here, which does tend to derail things sometimes. It'd be great if we could dial back on that a bit as they do receive a disproportionate amount of the (often vacuous) comments to the other 38 songs in the top 40, and that includes the haters. I think its more useful to comment if you actually have something to add to the discussion, not just "yay! they're doing great/crap" (delete as appropriate). We know who will think what already they don't really need to repeat it every day/week/month surely?

 

Read the message on the official, its really sweet that they've done it, though it does smack slightly of desperation as they're obviously worried about losing the top10. More power to them though, they want to sell records and chart well, they should do whatever it takes. Shame physical sales are low, but i suppose thats the market in general too and hopefully they'll get the tradional saturday boost. Also loving that they're saying buy on iTunes or Amazon (not chart registered for downloads :lol:) and the link at the side takes you to HMV! :rofl: whoops!

Shall we from now on concentrate on the charts and where our FAVOURITE artists are? If you don't like an act, don't comment-theres a rule at the front about provoking arguments and whether you mean to or not, dissing someone else's favourite artist will lead to this. And we should all be tolerant of fans. I can completely understand why GA fans are so vocal this week, just like I was two or three months ago because two of my favourite artists (Dido and Anastacia) were flopping even worse than this.

Just to point out though spicefunk, i dont think its really management who are bothered about the top ten, there has been that much of an uproar on the official forum, i think management wanted to be seen doing something to not get in the fans bad books.

 

I can actually understand how a none GA fan would get annoyed this week but it will all be over next week don't worry :)

How about we change the topic to "Where will Alesha chart?" Shes entered the top 20 on itunes (#19) but is only no.30 in midweeks. I think she will chart at number #27. But at the start of the week i said she would chart at #30.
