January 30, 200916 yr Author Maybe! He's still an arsehole though! An irrepressible, little cheeky chappie of an arsehole! Norma but thats the point.... he IS an arsehole, i know it, you know it, HE knows it and he IS an irrepressible cheeky chappie unlike chris martin .
January 30, 200916 yr but thats the point.... he IS an arsehole, i know it, you know it, HE knows it and he IS an irrepressible cheeky chappie unlike chris martin . If Rob's background was similar to Martin's though ... would he be able to get away with his 'cheeky chappie' masquerade? Would he be able to get away with his 'arsehole' like behaviour as he has done thus far? Worth thinking about. I know - it seems I am one of the few who dislikes Williams for the very things that millions love him for. What others find amusing about him ... I find tedious and boring and totally unfunny. He also has the most whinish voice I've ever heard ... almost as bad as Tom Selleck! I'm not saying that I don't find Martin a trifle boring ... but I think he's preferable to Williams any day! Just my opinion. And opinions are like arseholes ... everyone has one! Norma

January 30, 200916 yr no its not... its irrelevant, the fact is that they are 2 totally different individuals, so saying 'if robbie was martin' would mean that he is martin....whom i dispise.. Its nothing like saying 'if rob was martin'. I wouldn't have posted that ... that would be ridiculous. I just think there is some sort of 'reverse' snobbery surrounding Coldplay (well Chris Martin anyway). I don't know why I'm defending him I can't stand all the 'eco warrior' stuff either ... but as a musician he runs rings around Robbie Williams. That is my opinion and as I said '.... opinions are like ars .... etc, etc.' Norma

Again ... you've put words into my mouth. And I didn't say Rob was 'untalented'. He has talents .... but I'm not sure music is one of them! But in summary .... I come to the same conclusion as you but in reverse ... I just don't like Williams! Norma Can someone correct the spelling in the title of this post ... its been bugging me since I first saw it!

February 3, 200916 yr whatever the latest pile of doggy doo doo is called from the plagarist master chris martin, check the riff on this #7 hit by fairground attraction from 1988 InNMprncrTs c'mon..... time after time theres accusations that chris martin plagarises others work... theres just too many to be co-incidence and this latest riff pinch must seal his fate... Ignoring the rest of the thread as i imagine it to be rather pointless -_- ... That reminds me most of Life In Technicolour; but its in a completely different key
February 3, 200916 yr Author Ignoring the rest of the thread as i imagine it to be rather pointless -_- ... then whats the point of this forum?..... <_<
February 3, 200916 yr ^^ Well in all fairness, why would anyone want to read this four page thread, half of which is you complaining about Chris Martin and 'boreplay', then onto Robbie Williams. Does get repetitive and it seems you'll have the same reaction to what anyone else's opinions are - that you are right.

Does get repetitive and it seems you'll have the same reaction to what anyone else's opinions are - that you are right. dont you understand the concept of 'debate'?.... my header was posed as a deliberately worded question in order to stimulate discussion over the often mooted point about chris martins suspected plagiarism... and half the opinions are not grounded with anything to support them.. its no wonder buzzjacks going down the pan, decent, intelligent posters are leaving because the membership here would sooner sit around agreeing with eachother, flirting or playing mindless 'games' threads <_<
February 3, 200916 yr then whats the point of this forum?..... <_< Ok pointless is the wrong word. Tedious, maybe?
February 3, 200916 yr Author Ok pointless is the wrong word. Tedious, maybe? yes, tedious, it IS tedious that everytime some of us try to stimulate discussion it gets bogged down in moronic 'whats the point' type posts then bicker over the content of the thread instead of addressing the point in question..... <_<
February 3, 200916 yr It's tedious because you keep going on about something you're wrong about, something which is merley coincidence, and is proved every time the 'Coldplay Plagarising?' debate happens...
February 3, 200916 yr It's tedious because you keep going on about something you're wrong about, something which is merley coincidence, and is proved every time the 'Coldplay Plagarising?' debate happens... It's hardly more tedious than Coldplay's incredibly dull music though is it.....? And, sorry, but Rob does have a valid point.... I thought the Indie/Alternative forum to be largely free of all the childish, immature cack "responses" you get whenever you dare to criticise the bloody Shaturdays or make a rather funny joke about them.... And who says that Rob is "wrong" anyway.....? Even if Coldplay aren't guilty of out-and-out, unambiguous plagiarism, what they most definitely ARE guilty of is turning once interesting styles of music as played by the likes of Echo and the Bunnymen, The Cure, Radiohead, (early) U2, (early) Simple Minds and Pink Floyd into castrated, edge-less, sterilized, colourless, dull fukkin' DRIVEL..... Just LISTEN to U2's brilliant "Unforgettable Fire" album and the Bunnymen's "Ocean Rain" or "Crocodiles", and then compare it to the stale, putrid cack that is "Viva La Vida" or "X and Y"...... I grew UP with this music an to hear the likes of Coldplay turn it into THIS is just more than offensive to me.... Infinitely more offensive than the likes of Girls Aloud or The Saturdays, because I frankly never even gave much of a sh!t about THOSE styles of music in the first place...... ....And just look at the absolute sh!t that has followed in Coldplay's wake - Athlete, Keane, Razorsh!te.....GOD....... :puke2:

'merely co-incidence'?... once maybe, twice? three times? more? oh the devotion of 'fans' <_<
