Doves announce new album details

Doves make their return with their new record Kingdom of Rust after four years

Doves have revealed full details of their long awaited fourth album.

The Manchester trio have named their new 11 track record Kingdom of Rust and it is due for release on 6 April.

The band are also set to embark on an intimate six date tour of the UK, which kicks off in Warrington in March.

As a taster, Doves are giving their fans the chance to download another new track from the record entitled Jetstream, which is available on their website now.

The album, which has seen the band holed up in a farmhouse in Cheshire for the past 18 months, comes four years after their third LP Some Cities.

Long term Doves collaborator Dan Austin co produced all but two tracks on Kingdom Of Rust. Radiohead producer John Leckie laid down the remaining songs - 10.03 and Winter Hill.

Other tracks slated to appear on the record include Jetstream, The Outsiders, The Greatest Denier, Birds Flew Backwards, Spellbound, Compulsion, House Of Mirrors and Lifelines.

The band will also release the title track of their new record as a single on 30 March.

Don't really know these guys tbh, only 'Some Cities'

Love this single, never been a massive Doves fan, but this is a very promising introduction to the new album

Edited the first post to include the cover art and the video for 'Kingdom of Rust'.

REALLY like this!

Have loved The Doves since Lost Souls in 2000 and I was even lucky enough to see them live in 2002.

The sound of this is somewhere in between that of Lost Souls and The Last Broadcast, and is quite the return to form for them. I do hope it does well, but I suspect a flop for the single sadly :(

Any word on a second single yet?

"Kingdom of Rust" is about to drop out of my personal chart, and I have no follow-up to replace it with. :(
