Posted February 1, 200916 yr :cheer: Will she go all the way, I think we get a respectable position with 'All My Time' but I don't think we can win it, Finland's entry is the stongest so far, mind you if there are a lot of cheesefest tracks, we could get at least top 10.
February 1, 200916 yr Atfer far too many listens to this song I'm still not 100% sure of it - I'm dead chuffed Jade won (and so my money wasn't wasted) but the Twins did a nice version on the night though too. Now the song... It is obviously written by ALW and has that stage theme to it, at first it's very slow smooth and a little dull tbh but when the band kicks in it become something quite special so hopefully Europe will be impressed by that. i reckon realistically top 15 is something to aim for and would be a very solid result
February 1, 200916 yr Very pleased with the result. Easily our best song since 2002 and I reckon we can do well with it. If it gets a good position in the draw, I reckon we'll do really well. The juries will love it too.
February 1, 200916 yr The song isn't as bad as Mark first made me think it was! I think we can expect somewhere between 6th and 11th with the juries and the right draw. But I can't see us winning.
February 1, 200916 yr Well in the post results BBC Press conference Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber said the song is not to be recorded for another 2-3 weeks to allow dust to settle and for him to work on the arrangement of the song. http://www.esctoday.com/news/read/13123 Therefore the final recorded version, that we will hear in Moscow can only be an improvement. I'm also very pleased to hear ALW & Jade are planning a promo blitz in Europe in April to promote the song.

February 1, 200916 yr I haven't seen the last 2 weeks so i'll catch up and for now will pass judgement till later :P

February 1, 200916 yr the 12 in 2007 was quite a one-off as we normally just get 3/4 points from them.' Didn't they send their 12 to the worst song (i.e. us), a as a protest against something? Even just having ALW on stage playing piano for Jade should convince people of the UK's commitment a bit more this year. Top 10-15 I hope, it's a long way from the dismal placings of the last 6 years. Jade is fantastic, but I agree that the song is less spectacular until the band join in, the beginning is lacking somewhat. The song is slightly corny, but we have to remember the audience: complex lyrics that a lot of audience members just don't understand, won't go down well. 'It's my time' is about as complex as 'I need something to believe in', the lyrics need to be simple enough to be understood by a lot of non-native speakers. The melody is simpler, but gets quite epic towards the end. We just have to hope no-one sense anything too similar. Over the moon for Jade, of course, but I hope the modified version of the song is great, because she probably deserves better.

They had a jury vote IIRC and chose to give us the 12 to protest against the eastern domination that year, rather childishly methinks, although in fairness Vertigo was quite the tune...the only one from the west that actually was (excusing my guilty pleasure Ven A Bailar Conmigo from Norway :kink:) -_- And I have an awful awful feeling that anything outside the top 5 will be seen as further evidence of the UK failing by the seemingly ready for xenophobia tabloids. I already can't stand to read the BBC 'Have Your Say' column, and have to barely contain myself from ripping into the ubiquitous 'why do we pump money into this eastern political $h!t?' replies :manson: The most annoying thing is that half of them are saying we should withdraw until they change the voting system, which just goes to show how uninformed most of them are! I do hope that Jade isn't harmed if we don't do too well, but the song really doesn't stand up too well to Hadise, who is a rather obvious top 5. I just hope we don't get too many big ballads this year so we can stand out! We'll do well off the jury vote I reckon...

But then, the East had sone tuneage aswell in Yassou Maria, Song Number 1, Mojot Svet & Work Your Magic. Looking back, one of my favourite years
February 1, 200916 yr I'm surprised so many are doing the song down. Look at the rubbish we have sent for the past 10 years. For me it's the best since Imanni in 1998. It deserves at least Top 3 especially with the emotion that Jade put into it. For once the UK public got the final 3 order right this year. Jade winning - The Twins 2nd and Mark 3rd. Now that we're going back to juries for the Eurovision voting I wouldn't bet against it, and also with the promotion in Europe.
February 1, 200916 yr I never watched the show until last night as i just hadnt got to see it,,i have to say i love the song i prefered the twins version but i liked jades alot...when mark sang the song first i thought oh my god what a crap song he really did a terrible versiion..i really hope ye UK guys do well this year as its dfinitly a song i will be supporting
