February 3, 200916 yr Not necessarily for the GA connection - moreso for the modern pop connection. A production of that style would easily do well - look at last year's top five! Modern pop ruled supreme - Dima Bilan had Timbaland's associate Jim Beanz, Shady Lady was extravagantly modern energetic disco pop (of the sort I'd expect from a Xeno/Jade collab), and Kalomoira wouldn't have been out of place in the Billboard Hot 100 - or the UK charts for that matter  Sirusho went with the tried and tested formula of mixing ethnic sounds with modern pop, but it's a tad hit and miss as to whether Maria would still do well this year...it all depends whether classy retro-soul pop was just a very 2008 thing or not! :P So more of a Xenomania-style production? Yeah, I could see that helping. The UK has gone electropop crazy now, how is that received in Europe? I am so disappointed by the Jade song though - it bares more than a passing resembalance to Thats My Goal
February 3, 200916 yr Interesting article on the BBC... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7864830.stm I'm partially inclined to agree with Keith Mills, although I don't see Jade going bottom five (but then again, wouldn't be all too shocked if it did happen; I just consider it very unlikely with juries) and this is coupled with Keith's notorious anti-UK bias (seeing as he gave Cyndi and all of the other entrants less than 4/10 in the 2007 NF ). I do think he's right in that it could be hard to sell - it definitely needs a performing slot near the end to do well IMO. I reckon mid-table to low top ten for Jade...
February 3, 200916 yr It's a tricky one to decide. It could be an epic fail, or a success. I'd say 16th. -_-
February 3, 200916 yr  I dont really like the lyrics its almost a spoof style song. It reminds me of Peter Kaye's "Geraldine" winners song. its very cliched. It might do well on the back of the ALW's name.
February 3, 200916 yr i wonder how the song will do in the uk charts i can see it doing quite well myself but i could be wrong
February 3, 200916 yr i wonder how the song will do in the uk charts i can see it doing quite well myself but i could be wrong Potential number one IMHO. Probably not for a while though.
February 4, 200916 yr Xenomania have more than that sometimes horrific work they do with GA under their belts ;) Sweet About Me was a big european hit. And the other girl band that Xenomania have worked with have had moderate success in europe. Round Round, Hole In The Head and Red Dress did pretty well in europe.
February 8, 200916 yr I can't believe we get an amazing singer, who looks amazing, and could have a good career after eurovision and ALW gives her THAT song, the it's my time is just overly annoying, and it makes her voice sound bad! it's too musical theatre as well.. why can't we just get a decent song writer in? =[ It can't be THAT hard to come up with a decent song! Simon cowell finds them all the time haha! i hope they change it alow before recording it or give her a new song :/ on the opening show when she sang a fast paced song with beyonce style backing dancers she was just great, they should have gone in that direction. She can sing big ballads but they only sound good when it's a decent song and not overly repeatative... she wont do well with this, which is a shame coz it will mean no career for jade! and shes a billion times better than alexandra, wish jade went on x factor!
February 8, 200916 yr they have now already slightly tweaked My Time...it sounds a little bit more contemporary...it was the version she performed at the Maltese NF last night: Xp7201N3IBk
February 8, 200916 yr I love that version actually, very Whitney/Leona... the only problem now is the lyrics!
February 9, 200916 yr The new version is f***in amazing tbh, and Jade sings it really well. We have to do well this year!
February 15, 200916 yr She sounded amazing on that show in Malta! The song has grown on me a lot too. :)
