Posted February 1, 200916 yr Police probe Brand's BNP remark Sunday, February 1 2009, 14:18 GMT By Sarah Rollo Source: digitalspy Police are reportedly investigating a remark Jo Brand made about the British National Party. The comedienne's comments about the leaking of the party's membership list were made on a programme brought in by the BBC to temporarily replace Jonathan Ross's Friday night chatshow. A senior producer on Friday Night Live At The Apollo has been questioned by the Metropolitan Police about the January 16 incident, reports the Mail On Sunday. Brand reportedly joked that as a result of the list becoming public on the internet, she now knew the addresses where to send "poo" through the post. The following day, the BNP’s deputy leader Simon Darby made an official complaint to Hammersmith police alleging that Brand’s comment had been an act of incitement to cause racial harassment. A police spokesman confirmed: "We have received a complaint and officers will be reviewing the programme to see if any offences have occurred." A spokeswoman for Brand said that she is co-operating with the investigation.
February 2, 200916 yr Oh, so now the fukkin' BNP are acting all "politically correct" when it's them that are being targeted....ROFLMAO What an utter irony......  If BNP members DID gee poo through their letterbox, well, it would only be karmic retributions for what their racist movement has done to thousands of Pakistani, Indian and Afro Caribbeans for decades...... Well done Jo......
February 2, 200916 yr Brand’s comment had been an act of incitement to cause racial harassment An incitement to cause harassment yes, but why racial? Isn't that as good as an admission from Darby that it's one of the things his party are famous for? Quite surprised to see this actually as I know Sarah the author of this article pretty well!

February 4, 200916 yr How pathetic. This country has really gone to far with this political correctness $h!te. Yes, i can understand punishment and involving the police where the act was deliberate and happened because of racial hatred. But ffs, Jo Brand is White, the BNP leader is White. In fact the whole of the BNP is f***ing White. So how exactly is this racial? just because she's said lets put poo through their letterboxes in a stand up routine doedn't mean that 100's of BNP members are going to wake up to $h!t stained carpets. This Darby creature is a total waste of oxygen and a total Hypocrite. I'm surprised with the incredible amount of PCness in this country that he isn't in jail for Racial Harassment. What's more racist? Trying to remove British citizens from the UK because they aren't white or a white woman making a joke about the (all white) BNP member list? Police should be catching real criminals not wasting their time with this
February 4, 200916 yr What's more racist? Trying to remove British citizens from the UK because they aren't white or a white woman making a joke about the (all white) BNP member list? The latter, apparently. Let's not forget - during the 2002 World Cup, they were the only English people who wanted Denmark to win. Simply 'cos the Danes didn't have any black members.
February 4, 200916 yr alleging that Brand’s comment had been an act of incitement to cause racial harassment. Well that's rich
February 4, 200916 yr Oh, I see - any of their stuff against foreigners isn't racist, but this is. Exactly my thoughts.... So, now the BNP are using fukkin' anti-racist laws, that they would in all liklihood repeal should they get into power.... Hypocrisy, thy name is "Darby".....
February 4, 200916 yr Let's not forget - during the 2002 World Cup, they were the only English people who wanted Denmark to win. Simply 'cos the Danes didn't have any black members. Are you serious.....????? Yeah, and people say that the BNP isn't a racist party..... <_< Frankly, I'd outlaw these fukkers, and lock them up if I had my way.....
February 4, 200916 yr What the frig?, really! Honestly, "Live at the Apollo" is shown on Dave for gods sake, you really think Mr Darby from the lovely BNP would be complaining of it was on Dave, its because its the BBC, and because its the Beeb the party will benefit, they'll get more exposure, a public apology, a little compensation blah blah blah. Jesus Christ! It's just all a bit pathetic now, what comediens these days don't insult ANY specific groups?, THATS WHAT MAKES IT FUNNY!!!, knobs!
February 5, 200916 yr An incitement to cause harassment yes, but why racial? Isn't that as good as an admission from Darby that it's one of the things his party are famous for? Damn good point! This is the second race controversy for Jo this week, then, after her being embroiled in the Carol 'Adolf' Thatcher controversy as well...
February 5, 200916 yr The following day, the BNP’s deputy leader Simon Darby made an official complaint to Hammersmith police alleging that Brand’s comment had been an act of incitement to cause racial harassment. The IRONY.
February 6, 200916 yr What the frig?, really! Honestly, "Live at the Apollo" is shown on Dave for gods sake, you really think Mr Darby from the lovely BNP would be complaining of it was on Dave, its because its the BBC Pretty much in a nutshell.... Dave is probably watched by about 5% of the people who watch a similar show on the BBC..... Like I've said on another thread, it's getting to be pretty usual for the media and the political establishment to try and undermine the BBC.... Yes, they DO do things that are wrong, but, er let's compare BBC programming and news particulary to Sky, CNN or Fox ( :puke2: ).... And, er, who is it that runs TWO of these networks, and coincidentally also runs several of the more popular newspapers in this country (Sun, News of the World, The Times) who are the fiercest critics of the BBC..... Why, that would be that nice Mr Murdoch....
February 6, 200916 yr Are you serious.....????? Yeah, and people say that the BNP isn't a racist party..... <_< Frankly, I'd outlaw these fukkers, and lock them up if I had my way..... Yup - http://www.searchlightmagazine.com/index.p...te&story=51 The article, believed to have been written by the sporting "expert" and betting fanatic Martin Wingfield, ended with the words "Good luck in the next round Denmark!" That next round game was against England. Who convincingly beat the Danes 3-0. Amongst the goalscorers were Rio Ferdinand and Emile Heskey.
