Well under normal circumstances yes. If I was famous though but had frittered most of my money away and a million quid could set my daughter up for life then I'd bite their hands off.

why shouldnt she die in front of the camera? that IS how shes lived her life and i think it would be incredibly BRAVE for her to do that. imho its HER choice, and its YOURS as the whether or not you watch it!

So, basically, you're saying you wouldn't care how it would affect your daughter, or what her wishes might be....? You're only thinking of the money.... Kids dont care about the money mate, not in situations like this one, they want to be with mum or dad..... Trying to apply rationality to feelings and emotions that are pretty irrational is stupid and ultimately psychologically destructive to the very people you claim to love..... How many kids have grown up in wealthy families feeling totally unloved even though they had all the material cr@p....? Millions...... EVERY newspaper, EVERY TV station, EVERY internet chatroom, and just about EVERY conversation would be about "jade dying live on TV", you couldn't escape the fukkin' Princess Di funeral, you wont be able to escape this either.... Well, unless you go and live in a sodding log cabin in the woods with no means of communication for about 3 months that is......

Actually, wasn't there something a bit similar to this in some European country (something to do with "contestants" getting a life-saving operation or summat..?), but it turned out that it was a huge wind-up just to see what the reaction of the public would be, to see if public morals had totally decayed thanks to Reality TV and Celeb culture..... You see, in the UK, this would be an actual programme, not a wind up, because we're clearly so totally morally and ethically bankrupt now, that some people seem to think that people dying on TV is "cool" and that they'd do it themselves if someone offered them enough money.....

Jade Goody was today planning a "fairytale" wedding to her fiance Jack Tweed - with a little help from her showbiz friends.

 

The 27-year-old, who's been told her cancer has become terminal, briefly left London's Royal Marsden Hospital in a wheelchair to exchange engagement rings with Tweed, 21.

 

The couple then visited Harrods where Jade picked a "beautiful" wedding dress, a gift from the store's owner Mohamed Al Fayed.

 

Sir Elton John has offered one of his homes as the location for the ceremony and messages of help and support have been sent by Jonathan Ross, Simon Cowell and Dale Winton.

 

Speaking on Sky News today (February 16), Jade's publicist Max Clifford said: "This has given her something to think about, a happy event. The wedding, the christening of her two boys, these are all positive things to focus on as opposed to the cancer and what is happening to her and what she's going through."

 

He said: "After they exchanged rings they went to Harrods where she picked out the most beautiful, in her words, wedding dress. Mohamed said it was his gift for her wedding day."

 

Mr Clifford said Jade also picked Armani suits for her sons, Bobby, five, and Freddie, four.

 

Mr Clifford said Jade told him: "Max, I know I'm ignorant but I want my boys to have the best possible education money can buy and I am going to make sure that I do that for them so that when they grow up they know that mum did that."

This story is certainly interesting.

 

I don't care for Jade Goody, but cancer is horrible. My gran died and while I was too young to realise what was going on, now I realise odd bits and pieces that happened in her life. You can't not feel sorry for her kids, they're way too young to understand what's going on around them and I expect when she dies it'll probably come as a little bit of a shock to them.

 

Again I understand why she's doing this for her kids and stuff, but at the moment she's just a media slave. She's losing whatever dignity she had left. The Sun is the scum of the earth, and they will manipulate Goody to doing anything for them. I think I read that Heat magazine sells more copies if Jade Goody is one the front page, compared to Angelina Jolie. :| I'm sure all the papers say 'they care' but no way. Whatever they're giving Jade Goody for all the stuff she's doing for them, i'm very sure they're making a damn site more.

 

But then you have to look at the whole issue in real terms as well. Jade Goody has obviously made a small fortune from her time out of Big Brother, and i'm sure that in enough be enough to keep her kids very happy and have a very good upbringing. Call me cynical, and I could be getting completely the wrong end of the stick, but her boyfriend will gain a lot from this. He's being portrayed very well in the media over the past few weeks (especially after being arrested, and the race row on Big Brother), and add that to the fact that when Jade Goody dies he'll be entitled to a lot of money too. He DUMPED Jade a week or so back but soon as he heard the cancer was terminal Jade and Jack suddenly become all lovey dovey and he proposes to her :rolleyes:

Regardless of what people think of her, no-one deserves to suffer from cancer or to die so young.

 

Even if Tweed is just 'in it for the money', which I doubt he is (he had been with her for a couple of years beforehand, even if they had broken up), I think that the proposal was a lovely gesture from him.
