Stargazing on Valentines Day

In honour of Leon’s new track ‘Stargazing’, fans on the forum have hailed February 14th International Stargazing Day! And what better way to mark Valentines Day than by joining in on their mass download of the gorgeous track next Saturday (14th)

What will be the effect of International Stargazing Day on Stargazing chart position?

I admire his fans for trying to get behind him, but things are stacked against him. No video, limited radio play, and as far as I know no planned promotional performances or physical release. So unless things change dramatically a 'flop' I'm afraid.

It's a good song as well, and would do well if it got reasonable airplay. It's just a little old fashioned and most radio station won't touch it as he's already been written off by them.

With his tour rearranged to include Same Difference (!) things are not looking good for him.

The idea is to get it to chart high enough to attract more interest from the radio stations. With 10k sold, it will just about reach top 20, 5k top 40, and this seems feseable with the big push from the fans.

I have to agree with you. All credit to his fans both on his OS and on DS for promoting Stargazing (excellent song) but unfortunately not really single chart material...........and with no physical release planned or video it is all down to the fans to try and get it to chart as high as possible, but sadly I don`t think it will have an impact on his album sales. The best thing that could happen is for Syco to drop Leon and for him to be picked up by a smaller label who specialise in his genre of music and will nurture him more than Syco ever could.

A big huge fat massive obese flop

That's a bit hyperbolic Jonie, just like your cock I guess!

His 2nd single was actually very good. This one is a bit flat but it's a nice little ballad.

LMAO, these online fan campaigns never work. They’ll need at least 1,000 people to download it just to be in with a chance of it going top200! Highly improbable.
It's almost as if his record label want him to fail :P Creative could've done something with a proper release and this probably could too.

LMFAO! The only song he isn't promoting and hasn't got a video for, I actually quite like LOL! I wouldn't go out my way to get it, but I wouldn't turn it off if it came on the radio or something!

Sounds quite Take That-ish :o

It is a good song, although I agree that it may not be typical top 40 material.

But if it was released by an established artist, I think that it could be top 10 material, or at least top 20, and would boost album sales. The problem that Leon has is that his album won't appeal to his young X Factor fanbase, as the style is for a more mature audience. He needs promotion, but he is not getting it from the label anymore

I hope that the fan actions are going to spark some interest.

he looks really uncomfortable in his music videos & performances. i don't think he's ready to be doing this kind of thing.

his material is pretty bad, too.

It's quite a nice song, but Syco have screwed him over. Unfortunately, I'm not sure he's strong enough, or bright enough to steer his own career. I think it's a shame TBH.
This has got major floppage written all over it. Its a decent track but radio and the public have already decided that they don't want to buy into him. It'll take a track of epic proportions to turn it around, and whilst Stargazing is decent, it certainly ain't gonna reverse his current fortunes.
