Morrissey’s Years Of Refusal (Decca) has taken an early lead in the battle to top the albums chart, outselling current number one Lily Allen’s It’s Not Me, It’s You (Regal) on its first day of sale.

However, the competition may be closely fought: at the moment Morrissey is less than 1,000 units ahead of Allen.

Meanwhile, on the singles chart, Allen’s The Fear (Regal) looks likely to top the chart for a fourth week, with Lady GaGa’s Just Dance still its closest competitor.

U2’s comeback single Get On Your Boots (Vertigo), however, has received a more muted reception and may enter outside the top ten, after failing to connect at radio.

Lower down the albums chart, Seasick Steve’s I Started Out With Nothin’ And Still Got Most Of It Left (Warner Bros) looks set to leap into the top ten, while much-hyped Australian duo Empire Of the Sun should challenge for a top ten placing with their debut Walking On A Dream.

St Etienne’s delayed best of, London Conversations (Heavenly), however, looks set to miss out on the top forty in its first week.

[04] Any member asking for information that isn't in the updates we don't have, always read the topic before you post, I do not want to see questions like Where is Britney? repeated several times on every page of the thread, once is enough, bookmark the page if you don't have time to read all of the topic. Its not that hard.

[05] Do not use BLOCK CAPITALS when posting a sentence its considered as shouting and rude.

[06] Do not use Text Talk.

[07] Do not use a light colour font when posting please its hard to read the topic, not everyone has 100% vision.

[08] Please give a mention to who posted the chart info or the site name where you seen the mid info if you are copying and posting the chart info elsewhere, it takes forever trying to re-edit all the information up for you to see.

[09] Finally, please do not post lists, or sales info unless you are told to by myself or a chart mod, if you do have sales info that you wish to share round them off to the nearest thousand and name your source, do not post precise sales figures.

looks like U2 might be outside the top ten in the mids unless their fans have been out in serious force buying the physicals, which wouldn't surprise me...Lily will obviously be No.1 again...

I hope Miley goes at least T20 this week. ^_^

I don't normally like MC, but Fly On The Wall is amazing.

Also I hope Rudenko flops, Gary Go charts high and Viva La Vida re-enters T40 :P

As much as I want U2 to go to #1, I don't think they'll make it

Kings of Leon for albums no 1 again! x333

Edited by B-rye

I hope Lily can hold on in the albums, but I suppose the Brits will have a pretty huge impact...

I know what you mean  I'm still slightly embarressed that I've downloaded it :D

I hope Britney manages to rise - one of her best songs in a long long time (Well, since Piece of Me anyway :P )

Same for Beyonce, although thats been hanging around for so long I think it will still stay around #7.

Lily will be a non mover on both singles and albums, surely... i hope so :yahoo:

Hope Miley goes top 20, Britney top 10 :)

I hope U2 don't knock Lily off during the week. <_<

A rather exciting week all round in both singles and albums...

I reckon the sales of both Top 3's this week could be very close.

If Alesha was performing at the Brits, I reckon she would easily make number one, but I still believe she still could do it without.

Miley, deffo a high new entry, as for U2, definately the lose cannon of the week, could be anywhere in that Top 10.

Be very interesting to watch the PSB fly up the charts during the week too.

Music Week report is in, very nice and early :o

U2 set to miss top 10?! :o

Hopefully the Brits will push them up further and they will keep rising on iTunes. It really isn't looking too good though! :(

The think is the writer did not take the Brits effect into account later in the week... in the report, the charts should be very interesting this week.
