Posted February 17, 200916 yr ok first of all, i was wondering if anyone could tell me how gabriella cilmi fared over in the U.K.? what sort of sales did her album/singles get? also, does anyone know whats going on with the veronicas untouched release? is it getting radio play yet? and lastly, how do u think empire of the sun will sell? thnx
February 17, 200916 yr Gab have 3 singles in the Top 40 atm. That's the only thing I know... I guess Empire's album will sell about 15k Edited February 17, 200916 yr by funmaker11
February 17, 200916 yr Gabby C did alright, Save The Lies scraped top 40 (Single 2) Sweet About Me initial did poorly then an advert propelled it into the top ten and onto 250k sales (Single 1) The album had a similar sucess to SAM, but less chart weeks. 220k approx Sanctuary flopped (Single 3) Warm This winter made top 25 can't remember where. Rouge Traders flopped after Voodoo Child so didn't release anythin off Better In The Dark in the uk. I'm not hold my hopes up for a Nat Bass release either
February 17, 200916 yr Author so empire of the sun wont get a #1 album there? awww thats a shame, especially with how successful theyve been in australia and considering how talented they are.

February 17, 200916 yr WTW Chart Position: 22 Rouge Traders are AU? I never knew that. :D yup. Nat Bass is from NSW.
February 17, 200916 yr yes. The former lead singer of Rouge Traders, Natalie Bassingthwaighte played Izzy in Neighbours.
February 17, 200916 yr Sweet About Me #6 (and a long chart stayer) Save The Lies #33 Warm This Winter #22 The album peaked at #8, and has so far sold between 150,000-200,000 I think? I wish she'd have released the excellent 'Don't Want To Go To Bed Now'. :(
February 17, 200916 yr I echo the sentiments of everyone else in this thread. I think Gabriella Cilmi has had a lot of success over her, now with a well established fan base and great recognition of "Sweet About Me". The Veronicas are a band that also have a definite fan base over here despite having never had a hit in the UK. However, you can see here that Fresh Radio have already playlisted "Untouched". I just hope that other radio stations will follow. It should definitely be right up the street of Capial etc.
February 17, 200916 yr i thought LTBL topped 200k  Possibly, I was just guestimating. :P I seriously cannot wait for The Veronicas to release here, I've been a big fan of theirs for about 3 years now and I'm confident 'Untouched' will be a massive hit.

February 17, 200916 yr I think untouched is going to be in my personal chart for a long long time, i never get bored of it.
February 17, 200916 yr Still, none of those acts have touched the success of Aussie rockers AC/DC this year!
