The Labour party had to remodernise in the 1990s because their left wing policies were putting the electorate off. If it wasnt for Tony Blair, we'd have had the Tories in charge still and we dont want that dont we ;)

Rubbish, it was the distortions and lies of the Tabloids that led to the Labour party being in the wilderness... And Kinnock in '92 didn't help matters either, when he tried to come across all "Presidential" on us, the prat....

John Smith, had he not died, would've been a good Labour PM, I reckon, as would Robin Cook.... B-liar and his spin has destroyed any faith that anyone ever had in the Labour Party.... People have been deserting the party in their droves ever since 2003...... Which would be the time of the Iraq war.....

however... if you are sick of his left wing rhetoric why dont you counter it with right wing rhetoric? if hes wrong, why not prove it by logic and debate? cant be arsed? well then, either put up or shut up. :)

Exactly, no point in p!ssing and moaning is there.... Neither Bismella or Crazy Chris have really got anything to say... I dont agree with Craig's politics or his neo-capitalist views, but at least he knows how to actually ARGUE A POINT, and he actually gives us something to counter rather than just say, "go fukk yourself", or "why dont you go to North Korea"..... YAWN.... BOOOOOORRRRRRINNNNNGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!! As if North Korea or China has anything to do with Marxism.....

You could buy me a ticket to Cuba, Bolivia or Venezuela guys......

Oh please, Labour would've won in '92 if Kinnock hadn't been such a twat in the days leading up to the election!

And granted, if they'd had a more Sun-friendly leader...

the only reason the SNP are more tolerant of immigrants is because without them, Scotland would never be able to afford independence. Hell it couldn't afford it with them and the English.

That vile horrid fat dumpling that waddles round edinburgh like he owns the place wants us out of the UK so we can throw ourselves further into the EU.

Contradiction much?

Salmond wants power over fiscal policy in scotland from westminster, yet is openly in favour of the Euro, which would mean surrendering many of those powers to Brussels.

The man is full of two things. $h!t and Hot Air.

The SNP and their delightful friends the SSP are a waste of oxygen, they are nothing more than anti-english little scroats. Who don't quite get that without taxes from E&W we'd be f***ed financially. They just want a reason to keep the english out, at any cost.

Sorry, being english, i find the SNP/SSP/Independence sickening.

Okay, I have my own serious issues with the SNP, but a lot of this post just shows the ignorance you have of some of the facts.....

FIRSTLY - in 1997, Scotland basically kicked out every single tory, who benefited - LABOUR.....

SECONDLY - When the Scottish Parliament was formed, which party did the First Minister belong to - LABOUR

THIRDLY - Who fukked up royally with dodgy donations and calling out the SNP on independence, actually being quoted as saying "bring it on"? That would be Wendy Alexander - LABOUR

Nu Labor are the architects of their own downfall in Scotland mate.... People were mostly happy to have a devolved Parliament, independence came on the table because of things like Iraq, the fact that the Scottish Labour establishment were a bunch of arseholes, the biggest being Wendy Alexander, so, needless to say, the people of Scotland have now begun to reject Labour in the same way they rejected the tories....

As for the EU, I dont see it being all that contradictory, Edinburgh does not wish Westminster to be brokering deals in Europe on Scotland's behalf, Edinburgh wants to deal with Brussels directly, so, no I dont really see a contradiction tbh, it's no more a contradiction as it is with Eire which also has a nationalist government which seceeded from the UK.... The real contradiction is the anti-European UKIP party which fields candidates for the EU parliament.....  The SNP has never been Anti-EU, or even Anti-English, it's anti-WESTMINSTER... There's a difference.....

GF - Well go to these marxists countries and I hope you get clap from a hooker there

God, you're sooooo adult aren't you... You and Crazy Chris should set up house together.... It would be like the movie Dumb and Dumber.....

I'm seriously considering that me and Rob should set up an IQ or general political/historical knowledge quiz for this forum, you dont pass, you dont get in, then maybe it would stop utter dumbasses from posting braindead spam like this....

Christ, what's the reason for the massive hostility towards his 80s views? Just because you think the Tories would be in government with them isn't really a reason to tell him to go f*** himself, so I'm surprised you didn't expect him to give as good as he got tbh...

Kinnock was hardly as left-wing as Labour under Michael Foot in the early 80s, or anywhere close. Besmillah has a point that those types of policy are probably fundamentally unelectable in Britain today (the 1983 Labour manifesto was called "the longest suicide note in history" for a reason). Though people can still personally agree with those policies, of course...

I shall put the flag out the day I see a GF post without a veiled swear word in it! :P

Like that idea  but even the likes of Crazy Chris know how to use Google, sadly anything in quiz would be searchable

The SNP has had a policy of independence for years tho. The only reason they are in power is because of new labours repeaded f***-ups both north and south of the boarder.

What i find a contradiction is that Salmond wantsd total power of scotlands monetry policy and fiscal $h!t, right, but he has been quoted somewhere about joining the euro, which would had all of those new powers directly to brussels and they have a far greater area to watch over.

Which surely proves my point... The SNP have certainly always had this policy of independence, BUT, the point I'm making is, that the Scottish people, the majority anyway, weren't as prone to going along with the SNP and independence before all of Labour's cock ups, Labour messed up, simple as.... The point is, that people feel that they've been sold out by Labour, and it's the nationalists that are benefiting... The SNP are a fairly broad-minded lot, despite their flaws and shortcomings; the BNP are a bunch of fukkin' neo-Nazi thugs who think rebranding themselves from Combat 18 or the NF somehow makes them more acceptable....
