I always thought that Boys & Girls would have been a better lead but obviously Mama Do wasn't such a shabby choice after all  Here We Go Again would have been a disaster as she would have looked like a GaGa rip off...Mama Do is rips off everything about 2008 of course, but seeing as nobody else is doing it at this moment in time, the public have clearly warmed to it

what's more shocking for me is how she is being embraced by the UK public, had she been launched in 2005/2006 with the same single, it would have tanked in at #43 or something, pure teenage manufactured pop just wasn't in vogue at the time...

I disagree actually! HWGA doesn't sound all that much alike to GaGa (indeed, if it wasn't for RedOne giving the game away with that damned bird-call you'd never guess it was him! :P), and let's face it, the dirty guitar MAKES HWGA what it is...vocally, it's far more Natasha Bedingfield than GaGa. Were it not for the bird-call (and the name-check at the beginning...) I don't think anyone would even realise the slightest connection to GaGa! :o

And SHOCKING that Boys & Girls is the second single. At least Mama Do is at least some kind of evolution upon the 2008 sound, but seriously, B&G is just pure retrograde insanity...she NEEDS to show a different sound, and HWGA would do that perfectly as a second single, as well as fitting into the current musical climate (i.e. RedOne domination :kink:)

Oh, and for the record, I did like Boys & Girls but it only got low pointage (roughly 3-5) from me at the time. Now it just sounds like a complete relic of 07/08

LIES!!!!!!!!

Totally 12 worthy and it'll stand out pretty well from the 09 sound whilst still being epic and catchy.

well I did send it to BJSC in 2008 :kink: Here We Go Again is so GaGa/Natasha it's untrue, a lot moreso than just the name checks I think :o at least Boys & Girls will continue the soul-pop theme, rather than leaping straight into a different genre and confusing everybody...I guess single number three could be her 'Paparazzi' where she has become established enough to show people a different sound

Deffo Natasha, I don't see much of the GaGa comparison aside from the RedOne hallmarks...the focus is definitely on the guitar rather than a sexy brooding synth or an explosive synthing chorus as it has been thus far with GaGa!
OH MY DEAR GOD. I've just heard Rolling Stone, the second RedOne/Pixie collab. It's like Here We Go Again mixed up with Boys & Girls. THIS IS THE STUFF WET DREAMS ARE MADE OF
well here's some more good news for the Pixie campaign;

according to Popjustice, Boys & Girls is the next single :cheer: :party2: :o

FSR Rontvia - Always ahead of the pack :kink:

:o Amazing!!

I still REALLY like 'Turn it Up' and am really hoping it get's a release at some point!

Oh and 'Rolling Stone' is brilliant too

singing live now on some BBC show hosted by Graham Norton...

vocally flawless once again

The first time I heard this I thought two things:

1. This is a surefire UK#1 hit single.

2. I hate it because it is so annoying with her Joss Stone trying to be a retro Amy Winehouse stylised vocal.

She might be a great singer, but like a lot of talent school types, I'm not convinced she has any soul. It is all too clean and clinical for my liking.

Mama Do and I Want You Back (Jackson 5) from Totally Saturday:

Sorry but what a bad version of Jackson 5. That song only works in a really high key like the original and I hate singers who dodge out of big notes which she is clearly capable of hitting. Mama Do is growing on me though but I definitely don't think it deserves #1 over other superior songs like Agnes which didn't make it.

The 'Boys & Girls' that is being released is far better than the one in the video above - the new edit is just amazing!
Absolutely adore this, I think it deserved to be #1 too. Very catchy song! I recall seeing adverts for her ages ago on music channels and being like "errr yeah, BOMB!" - my intuition for music is getting worse. :(
