It's not hurt them at all... what hurt them on the last album was a piss poor lead single compared to the bigger, more succesful and more commerical 'The Promise'... there was little to no hype around C&S, hell i'm pretty sure hardly anyone even knew they HAD a new album out...

Yeah Girls sounded like a charity single or something because it was just a novelty lol.

Nothing hurt the babes.

We had a duff era. Big deal.

The quality was there, in fact it always has been. The only thing that was missing was the cold hard sales.

Critically it was received well, but the Girls was a big no no. Universal Island and their management thought it could be bigger than AYN, and then put very little effort into the project, and with the obv advert and charity tie in's it looked more like a one off than a new album.

Oh and the pathetic stinginess of the label which meant that the girls lost out on prominent space in all the stores during it's crucial first month. after that it was doomed.

Not because The Vomit did undeservingly well or because The Sats album randomly became successful. but because of the label and management. The f***ers are pretty good at screwing up era's, they killed Mutya's career, Every Heart Broken should have been either the lead or second single. It was by far the best way to get interest in the album. Controversy Sells.

If The Vomit is code for Girls Aloud then dont be such a silly, jelous boy!

If this is true, its rather sad. They havent been as big as they were in 2005/2004 for ages, but they cant come back. If they throw this away, they're just playing into their rivals hands!

Well they can't keep changing their lineup forever....

On the other hand they haven't changed it for a while, by Sugababes standards have they? Plus i don't think Sugababes, Saturdays and GA can stay in the same field for too long :heehee:

What has their line-up got to do with anything?

I've heard the other two groups live and they sound like cats being stepped on. You even comparing The Saturdays to the ladies is stupid, because they've only released one somewhat successful album whereas the ladies have multiple under their belts. Once that group has proven they have longevity then maybe you can compare them. But as of now, no.

I'm not a fan of the ladies at all, actually. I don't know why I'm replying to you. But their last album was a solid effort. Like somebody else said, the lead single was an awful choice. Furthermore, the album name was immature & stupid, the artwork was diabolical and their sound had changed a lot from their last few albums.

Go and run back to your camp and tell them this news is all lies.

IT WAS A FALSE RUMOUR!

Most of us knew it anyway, but thanks for clearing it up as some folk will believe everything they read in these papers.
True or not, they should most definitely take an extended break. More than a year too, make people miss them and come back with something amazing. Familiarity breeds contempt yano :o
I saw this as well in the NOTW, but I don't think its true. its probably a rumour going round.
I'm glad its most likely not true, they are the best british girlgroup for me despite 'Girls' and 'No Can Do' being my least favourite singles from them in a LONG time, when they are good they are truly amazing so it would be a huge shame for them to split up, especially as 'Catfights And Spotlights' was a really good album.
It's been taken off the NOTW website now so it look like it was all rubbish.
They obviously wont split for good but they do need to take a break IMO.

I agree.

I don't think they do need a break at all.

General public will only remember "Girls" from this era so they could release a new album by Summer and it would feel like they've been gone ages.

oh dear this is just another crap split story... it's been written over and over the years. The same happen with Girls Aloud...so what?

We know from heidi's BF that they ARE writing and recording for the new album in the US, the performed live just yesterday, they went to Children Awards and they have 2 dates scheduled this summer...

Oh well done you.

It was hardly a code. It is by far the worst song i have heard from them to date. I couldn't give a f*** about it's popularity in relation to Girls.

And as for jealous: 1) Learn to spell it, 2)Pot, Kettle, Black.

I remember AYN very well

No $h!t Sherlock.
