What happens if we go over the 51 countries limit in this one?

I wasn't aware of this limit :o if we do, I'll hold 3 semis I guess and change the dates or else we'll have very packed semi finals

fair enough :P do you have an MP3 of Hurtful that you can PM to me, and that I promise not to overplay

I got it using the same Mozilla technique I PM'ed to you ;o

And if we go over the 52 countries limit we may well have to take several options:

  • Barring the contest to just 52 countries. Obviously not ideal, but it seems to have worked fine over at the NSC. I imagine it would result in uproar over here though...
  • Introduce quarter-finals for non-qualifying nations from XIV. Logistically difficult, but could be quite interesting in the future. I get the feeling this is what we'll have to resort to by XXV...
  • Introduce three semi-finals. This would be quite complex in terms of qualification and numbers of autoqualifiers (seeing as divisible by three is a tad more annoying and complicated than divisible by two). If we get 53 for example, then we'd have 2 autoqualifiers, three semi-finals of 17 and either 8 or 9 qualifiers giving us a final of 26 or 29...I don't particularly want to breach the 30-barrier given the quality already present within the contest, and I'm not sure how people would be with either 26 or 29.

thank you very much, I will get the MP3 that way :P

seeing as I'm the host, and it would be my workload, I would quite happily have the three semis option, and I would never go over 30 countries, I think 28 is excessive to be honest...autoqualifers is easy enough, I'd just take Quotosibb or in extreme circumstances, Quotosibb and Nickodonia, through to the final with me

The only problem with three semis is the rather small and annoying logistical problem that it offers, but I really can't see any other alternative :( It's impracticable to have semis that are larger than the final itself, but still only taking about 12 or so qualifiers...

I agree, I want the semis to be smaller than the final, it would be ridiculous otherwise...let's say we had 52 confirmations for arguments sake. that would equate to FSR Rontvia qualifying and 9 through from each semi of 17 to join Rontvia, making a final of 28 entries. The semis would be split randomly into 3 and countries allocated a semi at random to partake and vote in. Of course I'd have to vote in all 3 :drama:

Lorikeet Unofficially Confirm Stacie Orrico

After obtaining their second best result with VV Brown's Leave! finishing 8th in Herzebania last night, Lorikeet are un-officially confirming their entry as Stacie Orrico's There's Gotta Be More To Life.

Stacie is currently being used in the Fortunia national final against her own will. She is quoted "They threatened me at gunpoint until i agreed but i really want to represent Lorikeet". Lorikeet officials had no comment about rumours of sabotaging the Fortunia national final.

I really liked Cookie. In fact the only song i REALLY (and only) liked :( Apart from One Word, which i knew for ages. I don't count it.

I like it but don't think it'll do well. Can't say why, don't ask
I know it's risky but I was considering sending him last month, and save him for XVI but I just can't keep him in my folder anymore.

Seeing how FSR Rontvia first won with a song called "Love Song";

Then won for the second time with a song titled "Not A Love Song";

Then I think I have located the song to guarantee FSR Rontvia their third victory sometime in the future:

Public Image Limited - This Is Not A Love Song

"Gabs will be performing a duet with Enrique for his new single ‘Takin’ Back My Love’. They will be appearing on Loose Women, The Paul O’Grady Show, Alan Titchmarsh and the National Lottery"

From the Myspace of Gabriella Cilmi :o

Looks intriguing.

hope at least one gets uploaded to youtube

It seems quite odd that they're replacing Ciara with Gabriella Cilmi for promotion, they have totally different voices. People might start looking for the wrong duet if she does all the dates, at least when James Morrison promoted "Broken Strings" it was usually with a different person each time. [/off-topic]

The important time it was with Keisha (CIN) she also did some of his tour dates :wub:

Her version pisses all over the original.
