Kasabian 'West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum'

08 June 2009

The title sucks LOL. Seriously the worst title since ever. Not too keen on the band either so I do not expect much from this...

I've liked their singles but doubt i'd ever buy an album of theirs
OMG Kasabian . Empire + Shoot The Runner + Me Plus One = Best single choices from any 06 album?

I love Kasabian

Can't wait for this...agree that the album title sucks though!

Odd album title, agreed, but far from the worst I've ever heard!

Club Foot and Empire are also my favourite tracks of theirs...looking forward to the new material :D

Kasabian are to give away their comeback single 'Vlad The Impaler' as a free download.

The band are making the track available for free through Kasabian.co.uk from next Tuesday (March 31) - but only for four days.

Speaking to NME.COM about the track - which precedes Kasabian's third album 'West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum' - guitarist Serge Pizzorno told NME.COM he is looking forward to seeing people's reactions.

"After a few listens people will understand why it's first because it blows the doors off," he said. "I wanted it to have a Beastie Boys and Clash feel."

A video for the song, featuring 'The Mighty Boosh''s Noel Fielding and directed by Arctic Monkeys associate Richard Ayoade, also premieres on the site on March 31.

Both the download and the video will be available on Kasabian.co.uk at 7:30pm (GMT) on March 31. The download of 'Vlad The Impaler' is available for free until midnight on April 3.

Kasabian's first physical single release from 'West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum' will be 'Fire', out on June 1. The album itself is released on June 8.

Literally every band coming back seem to be giving away free downloads now, don't they? :drama:
Good news! Love Kasabian, can't wait to hear their new stuff. Hopefully they don't suffer Third Album Syndrome -glares at Keane and Razorlight-

Thought Keane's was pretty good, aswell as the Kaiser Chiefs ^_^.

I bought their first album and it's not bad. I love previous singles like 'Processed Beats', 'Cutt Off' and 'Shoot The Runner'.

I think what I hear will have to be seriously good for me to consider buying this though.

Well, I heard the free "taster" Vlad The Impaler being played on Jo Whiley's show this morning. I thought it sounded as though it had a Black Grape kind of arrangment to it - and after playing it, Jo said she'd received a number of texts pointing out the Black Grape similarity. Unfortunately, I dislike Black Grape and I don't think a great deal of this either :( . I just hope they've done the reverse of Maximo Park (their "taster" Wraithlike is quite good, but the official single The Kids Are Sick Again is something of a letdown) and the first official single, Fire, will be good :D
Love 'Vlad', can't wait to hear 'Fire' and the rest of their album.

I absolutely love it!

So much better than I'd expected...

So...this horrendously-titled album has leaked.

Haven't given it a listen yet, but will do soon.

'Vlad...' got old quickly and I really don't like 'Fire', so I'm not expecting much but we'll see.

And this is coming from someone who usually actually likes/liked this band (as I know lots of you don't! :heehee:)

Such a horrible band. 'Fire' is absolutely horrendous, goes nowhere and the chorus is just... shit really. I don't get why people like them anyway?! They do festival songs, and not even very well.
Downloaded this a while ago, busy giving it a listen now. It's been good so far imo, only halfway through like but still. Loving the new, HQ re-recorded version of Fast Fuse as well.
