Anything on Katy Perry and PCD? ^_^

Ooh how spooky! I was reading through the thread and was planning on asking about them two!

Would it be to much to ask for Katy to climb a little bit throughout the week? :teresa:

Id love the Pet Shop Boys to get top 10 when missing sales are added it is indeed their best single in a long time and again i would like them to kepe their record of having a top 10 hit from every studio album they released,if love etc doesnt get top 10 and cant see future singles of the album getting top 10 either..

Pet Shop Boys didn't get a top 10 single from the Release album...

Pet Shop Boys didn't get a top 10 single from the Release album...

no? well, at least they went to top 20...

where are take that in the album chart<????PLAESE

non mover

........ says that it really ought to be top 40 on iTunes by now.

EXACTLY my point.

I'm confused about people being "surprised" etc by the position of PSB.If sales data is missing then i'm the one thats surprised! This is the first single they have released into the single market with it current nature ie the physical is basically Dead - the few shops that EVEN still sell them (in the least prominent position) only ever stock a token amount UNLESS they have absolute certainty there will be an exceptional demand for one record (eg X factor winner etc). Considering how long ago PSB last had a huge smash cross over hit + the degree to which this song hasn't reached the general Public so far ( limited airplay - just Radio 2 to any degree) and negligible video exposure (eg youtube viewings much less than U2s latest for example) i can't see the shops stocking "Love etc" significantly regardless of its perceived quality (+ Parlo has no (final) say in the matter its up to the shops) - BECAUSE its downloads that MATTER now - thats were the general public sales have now shifted to/come from - thats were the market is targetted + biased toward - if an older generation who don't download (the singles market has always been driven more by the younger generation generally) is creating demand bigger than supply of a "regular physical" (we R talking about only a few thousand copies i think that is the range of highest selling physical records in a week) its still going to be dwarfed by downloads ( around 20K to get into top10 now ?) its "missing" which would contribute by far the majority to its chart position - ordering just a few more thousand physical copies which could meet the extra demand might not be worth it for retail.

New U2 single was similar situation? Don't know if people were shocked at U2 single relative low single placing (previously they had an ACTIVE singles chart run as impressive as Madonna/Kylie ) ie they always went near top with new pre-album single - as don't know its general perceived quality but regardless it would have easily gone top 10 in the old physical dominated chart imo.

Regardless of "Love etc" success the album can still go top 10 imo.

PS re Delusional Ronanites - if U actually look at the ACTUAL SALES of Ronan last couple of studio albums + singles U can see why he might no longer be considered successful + why he was SO DESPERATE after years of not being keen (while his solo career had life) for a boyzone comeback - which considering their original success has been pathetic - there is still NO certainty of a new (well OK full of EVEN MORE JOKE/HUMILIATING INDUCING karaoke cover versions :puke: ...) studio album.

Greatest Day, they played it in the Kilimanjaro documentry that had 8 1/2 million viewers.

Not surprised that Ronan is heading for number 1 its done well considering there is no single. It will be his 8th number 1 album, his 4th as a solo artist not bad going, yet there are still people that say he isn't successful

And he's co-written the winning Eurovision entry for Denmark ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KSSHOtaVec...feature=related

(close your eyes and its basically him singing as well!)

Too much words in your mouth, ima.

But good point anyways (bar the words 'Delusional Ronanties') . :D

JUDAS PRIEST! He not only sounds like him ... he looks like him!!!!!!!

Norma

Hehe, yep, its like they've asked Ronan to co-write the song, before cloning him, removing his Irish accent and replacing it with a Danish one! :o

And just to distinguish the two ... they've given the Danish bloke a slightly darker rinse on his hair! Otherwise ... the word I'd be looking for would be .... doppelganger!

lol that's a great word

Its actually quite a decent track. Although it'll probably bomb and finish in last place as these type of tracks never really set the heather alight in the contest anymore!

Flo Rida looks set to return to No 1, a week after losing out to Comic Relief.

Right Round is 500 sales ahead of Islands In The Stream. La Roux is the highest new entry at No 17, with other new Top 40 hits due by Pet Shop Boys and Franz Ferdinand.

Ronan Keating is likely to be No 1 album, 9,000 sales ahead of Annie Lennox, with Peter Doherty and Lionel Richie also new in the Top 20.

Cheers for the sales info Martin! 9,000 too big a lead to be caught - in fact, that lead will probably widen dramatically as the week goes on.

His last album sold almost 700,000 world wide so not a total loss. Also the new Boyzone studio album is due out towards the end of this year.

I'm sure Poker Face will take Right Round next week if it's not still in the race for this weeks No1.

URGH at Ronan Keating: expected, inevitably cashing in on the Mothers Days market with the subtlety of a skunk. Ok it’s for charity but it’s still totally horrendous.

Right on! The only good thing about Boyzone reforming in my mind was the death of Ronan's solo career. The bast*rd's used it as a platform and marketed himself in the most cynical, glib cash-cow of a way. The man has no soul! :manson:

Can't believe its no1. Stop buying it your mothers deserve better!

great to see Oasis back in the top40 of the albums :)

Sure the 2 for £10 tag in HMV is helping and general price drop everywhere (and falling down of course- the prodigy mix on the CD rocks!)

How much has Dig Out Your Soul sold now?
